Who doesn’t?
We used to do a lot of Relay/ Control panel upgrades . This would entail cutting holes in panels and mounting relays , switches , indicator lights , etc. Some of the Engineers would take an existing panel print from the archives and design the job from that . When we went to scope the job ourselves it was obvious that they never did a site visit . There would be bundles of internal wiring and even other eqpt in the same place they wanted us to mount the new stuff . We did a lot of on the fly redesign that saved their asses .quote:Originally posted by radioman:quote:Originally posted by selogic:
I spent many years dealing with Electrical Engineers . Some were outstanding . Some of them should have chosen another profession .
This is 100% accurate.
Sadly I find many (but not all) of the younger engineers do not have a good grasp on the basics that should be gained in college. Things like physics and other basic sciences.
They solve problems not from experience, thought, or experimentation, but rather just by Googling for the answer.
