I'm just so very tired of their ad hominem non-sense, The disregard for facts, their pride in their ignorance, and their smugness when they "win." It's all just grown so tiresome they cannot be reasoned with, even when you show them the direct result of the garbage they advocate for. I just want to completely divorce myself from them and their self-imposed hell, more especially I want them to stay the hell away from me. In dealing with our fellow man, we've got two choices, reason, or violence. I hate that one of those options is being removed from the table at such a pace.

I only have one leftist friend left and we have agreed not to talk about politics. The others have told me to fuck off or I've told them to fuck off. I cured that; I moved out of CA. Seriously, why even "discuss" politics with a leftist? Why engage with the assholes on social media? You have a choice; just walk away. Why indulge the irrational? If you stick around and engage with these commies, YOU'RE at fault. Can't run away forever. Sooner or later we'll have to engage them, or they'll win. I believe that time has long since passed, but maybe we're waiting for......what exactly, I'm not sure.....but something. _________________________ "Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. I've had this feeling of foreboding for several years, now. Just wish it would start, since this waiting and wondering is taking a toll. -------------------------- Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats. -- H L Mencken I always prefer reality when I can figure out what it is. -- JALLEN 10/18/18

Conservatives think liberals are wrong; liberals think conservatives are evil. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

I think everyones free to believe in and vote for whatever they want. The problem I have with leftists, is when you ask them why they support something (a bill etc.), they're so completely misinformed with what it even is and they never take the time to actually study anything they just drink the koolaid and argue it to the end. Even though what's truly in it, they wouldn't support if they knew.

The problem with liberals is the ignorance and hypocrisy wrapped in a layer of holier than thou, I am so much more evolved than you smug condescension. You cannot talk to them, the stupidity is so deep and thorough you will never break through, and you almost lose brain cells just engaging them. Their twisted and bizarre logic is not to be understood, even they can't explain it. It's gone too far now, they will never come back to center or even the real world. I quit fighting them and stopped considering them for promotions. So now they can wallow in their life choices. He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster.

Fighting when you're tired of fighting is often the most important time to fight. Such is life. Short of social circle and geographical adjustments, there is no real relief. I'd love to quit worrying that religious zealots of several varieties aren't trying to run my/our lives, and I'm occasionally dumb enough to think I can, but hardly a week goes by that there isn't a clear reminder that such battles still rage and won't end anytime soon. One must fight for what they believe (and don't believe), always and forever.

Agreed. This is why I disagree that we need to engage liberals. In my experience, it is a waste of time. I've tried listening to their point of view, calmly asked questions, provided factual information, etc. The response? More ignorance and emotional outbursts. Case in point: When my sister found out I'd taken my son to learn how to shoot, she went absolutely batshit crazy and sent me a blistering email telling me what a lousy father I was. I waited a couple of days and sent her a lengthy reply, pointedly ignoring all the nasty invective she'd spewed, and explained how I had provided my son training before letting him pick up a gun, supervised him at all times, and provided her links to some good info on responsible gun ownership. A couple of days later she responded, ignored all the information I'd sent, and spewed even more venom than before. Then she refused to speak to me for 5 years. _____________________________________________________________________ “One of the common failings among honorable people is a failure to appreciate how thoroughly dishonorable some other people can be, and how dangerous it is to trust them.” – Thomas Sowell

I run into this nearly 100% of the time. You bring up a point that destroys their premise and they immediately start discussing something completely unrelated. If you dare be so bold as to keep dragging them back to the original topic they get angry, call you a nazi and stomp away.

I've had the same results. I either not discuss anything politically related with them at all. OR, if I'm in a mood where I need to be entertained, I do and keep bringing them back to the topic and just smile to myself as I get them so heated that their head is about to blow off. It's always good for a good laugh if I have the time.
