^^^^^^^ That is standard Blue Cross practice and not illegal. Read the fine print. Make sure that when you go to the doctor that BCBS is filed as primary or you will really have a problem. It is called Coordination of Benefits. | |||

You are correct. I can't tell you how many times I have seen people not sign up for part B of medicare (or sometimes part A as well.) Then they find out later that their insurance plan (or even their pension plan if it's one plan tied to their health insurance) required them to sign up. They find out too late to sign up as they are outside the enrollment period. They have to wait until the next general enrollment period. It's all about cost shifting. Your putting more of the cost of insuring people onto the government rather than the insurance plan. | |||
