300 cubits long, 50 cubits wide, 30 cubits high. That's a lot of lumber.

I’m not sure the people at Home Depot would appreciate a demonstration of a cubit.

From Genesis, Chapter 6 (KJV):

And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits. A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it.

...And the Lord Saith: Never mind. Just build it!

Edited to add: Arrgh!!! One quote and I got it wrong! I guess 50+ years is a bit long to remember even a Bill Cosby comedy skit!

Well that joke landed with a thud. I thought this group would have been old enough to remember Bill Cosby’s ark routine.

You could maybe afford to build a dinghy at today's prices.

I don't now, couple 6' ladders, some ratchet straps, and bunch of Homer buckets and you could do something like:

Could probably add a sail with the 55 gallon drum liners and a curtain rod.

I'm a brand new freshman in college and my (late) brother, who was a senior, and I were walking from the student union building out to the car when it started pouring. As I took off in a jog to get to the car he said, "Real men don't run to get out of the rain". Wink

Or as my father would say, "What are you, made of shit? You ain't gonna melt." Dad had a way with words.
