This was a friends dog that was trained in hand signals to hunt grouse. We use to hunt the Appomattox-Buckingham State Forest when I lived in Lynchburg.
One time when we were hunting deer, we were leaving and met a guy that was carrying a fawn that still had spots and probably weighted 35 pounds at the most. Bill said, "Why don't you put him in your hunting pouch?"
