Balance of Nature fruit and veggie capsules.
Why didn't I think up some stupid shit like this and make a fortune? Amazon has a 30-day supply for only $97.99. Check it out HERE.

They use a vacuum freeze drying process using pressure. Now that is fricken innovative. Vacuum and pressure at the same time. I’m no scientist but…

I am sooo sick of the syruppy overly dramatic over-hyped Balance of Nature commercials by both the spokespeople they use, and the supposed testimonials of customers. Forgetting the outrageous price for a moment, their commercials, alone, are enough to dissuade me from ever trying their product.

The only commercials that I hate more than Balance of Nature are the ones for Dinovite.

Jim, I'd like to think that if you had created Balance of Nature that you would have have found a better way to market it and created better commercials...or at the very least, found better spokespeople and customer testimonials...maybe a Red pill/ Blue pill Matrix theme, of maybe Sasquatch Soap type humor... or hire Betty White from the grave to show how miraculous BoN is and what a great time she's having, now that she's on your product... anything but the barely literate fossils and giddy Price is Right mouthpieces they use now.

In the commercials it appears to be a powder you sprinkle on food? Confused So you can sprinkle the stuff on, say, a triple cheeseburger (which, depending on the toppings, actually has all the basic food groups) and think you're improving your nutrition? Razz If you really want the nutrition that fruits and vegetables provide, just eat them.

The commercial for this deodorant on television is beyond obnoxious. This one is similar:

Well, being in the freeze drying business, vacuum is a form of pressure…anything below atmospheric.

Nope not buying it. A vacuum is the absence of pressure. I realize people do say vacuum pressure but that’s incorrect. Regardless, the verbiage the company used would not imply they were talking about “vacuum pressure” or they could have just said that. It’s a scam company selling a scam product and using scientific mumbo jumbo to seem more legit.

After being exposed to so many ads, we finally looked at ordering some. We stopped at the price.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

I'm guessing that's the only commercial in the history of, well, commercials, that contains the line "It's your vagina's fault."

Personally, I don't have a vagina, and if I did, I wouldn't blame it for anything.

Unless it was proveable by the facts.

You can “not buy it” all you want but you’re wrong.

I can agree that the way they word it is confusing and doesn’t make sense.

I’m not sure if it’s a scam from the science side of things. Freeze drying/ vacuum drying is a very expensive process that uses a lot of energy. It’s very inefficient. But you do get a very high degree of preservation. So there is “some” truth in what they are saying in that regard. The high cost of freeze/vacuum drying is passed onto the consumer.

I’m not sure how their competitors prepare their product. They allude to using heat.

I can say that freeze/vacuum drying is better than heat drying when it comes to preserving product.

What I wasn’t buying is the use of the term pressure along with vacuum in their advertisement. I know a bit about freeze drying. We call it lyophilization in the bipharm industry. Most of our drug product that is delivered via IV is freeze dried into a cake and reconstituted at the infusion location.

ETA: it’s sort of a scam as in they imply it has health benefits. But it’s not a scam in that they don’t actually say there are any benefits. Other than saying it has anti-oxidents there are no real claims of any benefit whatsoever. They are preying on the gullible.

Chances are your product is lyophilized in a dryer I designed. I am an application engineer for one of the largest manufacturers of pharmaceutical lyophilizers in the world.
