So my wife has a lovely shotgun that she used for trap. Well with kids being born and time and life, we really haven't shot together for years. I still go and take the kids and what not. Well, she is left-handed and the kids and I are all right-handed. So I never thought to dig it out for them.

She says to me a few months back, hey take my gun, it never was a lefty gun, adjust the stock and set it up for the kids, who are now big enough to handle the gun.

Ok sounds good, well damn it I can't remember the code on the case. Over and over and over for the last month I have scrolled every password combination I could think of.

Well saturday night comes and we are going sunday morning, so I said F-it I am going to scroll all 1000 combinations. 000, 001, 002, 003 over and over and over.

Well who would have thunk that I was married on March 29th. Mother F-er, 329 scrolls later it's open. Any my darling wife and kids are staring at me like, how the F did you not try your anniversary! The piling on begins.

Good thing I wasn't married in September.

Gun shoots great and the kids love it. Shocker, it's italian.

My wife has never rubbed it in, but I forgot our anniversary many years back.

She was acting a little grumpy and in my (limited) wisdom, I asked her quite rudely what her problem was. The wife: "Its our anniversary!". Oops.

The thing that resolved the issue was my immediately taking the cash my friends had given me as a birthday present for a gun I wanted & instead bought her the new digital camera she'd been wanting. Money well spent. Big Grin

Precisely why my anniversary is on NYE.

Well, that and being able to deduct the rugrats for the year.

Mine is Aug 20. Many years I give her a gift the next day on the 21st. I'm horrible with dates and she will tell you "It took a day for it to sink in to his brain!".

That's funny.

I can't imagine the resolve to go through 1000 combinations.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

My kid set and forgot a 4 digit lock. It took me a few days but I got it.
