Black92LXJust realized I unknowingly cost us 10-13k this year in medical bills!!
Open enrollment time is upon us. We take (won’t be next year) my wife’s health insurance.
My employer pays us our stipend outright if we don’t take their insurance. I was unaware that my wife’s employer has a medical reimbursement plan if you don’t take their insurance.
So crunching the numbers with 3 scheduled surgeries and my unexpected emergency surgery I cost us a little over 10k out of pocket in just those surgeries that would have been reimbursed 100% by my wife’s reimbursement plan.
Granted on a normal year it would have been about a 3k mistake.
