Dry ice blasting seems to be the new thing and actually something that delivers. Engine bay is a bit dirty and was looking to rent one of the smaller machines as it’s just grime and dust I am getting rid of. 33 year old wire looms, harnesses, plastic, rubber, and all of the original engine bay stickers. The dry ice route seemed to be a good way to go. Local place rents a big and small unit. The small units need 50-100 CFM @ 80 psi. WOWZERS!!!!!! My lovely little Porter Cable 25 gallon compressor weighs in at 5.1 CFM @ 90 PSI. So I guess we’ll see $400 to rent the Dry Ice Blaster and $150 to rent a 90 CFM diesel compressor $250 in dry ice. Might be a little bit out of my cost benefit range. Maybe I can find a buddy that needs some stuff done and we could split the cost. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. Definitely a neat technique. Watched Tavarish do his flooded McLaren P1 with good looking results. Didn't realize they need that much air behind them. The Enemy's gate is down. | |||

Many welding gas suppliers have it available. I would just keep it in coolers and out of the sun. For me it would be a single day rental and only a couple hours of work so it would keep just fine for my timeframe.
