Well, I try to get my daughters and grandsons something small, special, different, each year.
Got both daughters Blatz tree topper stars all the new A Christmas Story movie this year.

Grandsons, the seven year old got a Little Golden Book, “Dumbo”, that was special to me when I was young. The eight year old, he’s a little harder.

He’s expressed a desire in his words to be a K-9 cop and live in Hawaii. So for him I found on Amazon a photo backdrop of a Hawaiian beach, palm trees, sand and water. Can’t give him a trip to Hawaii for obvious reasons.

Ordered it last Saturday, delivery date is Saturday the 21st. Cutting it close, we have to do Christmas early as he’s a shared custody kid.

So Murphy’s Law kicks into high gear with the strike. It’s somewhere between Phoenix and here, hoping it’ll be here in time.

Ordered some dried wild mushrooms (necessary for Christmas Eve dinner) on 12/7. Plenty of time...I thought. They were supposed to be here tomorrow. Today's estimate for delivery is now 12/28-1/7.

Thankfully I was able to find some semi-locally. I guess I'll have them for next year, so I've got that going for me.

This strike was timed for maximum exposure and conflict.

BTW, the union presidents involved have incomes in excess of $100K (some above $200K) a year and are NOT affected by the strike.

The backdrop arrived today!
