Ordered a Streamlight TLR RM2 earlier this morning. CC went through and got confirmation. Then, just minutes ago, got another email from them saying the transaction has been flagged as “potentially fraudulent”, and they refunded my money. WTF? All my years of legit online purchases, never once was I flagged for potential fraud. Then they said, in order to proceed with future orders, they want photos of my driver’s license and the CC or debit card I intend to use. Um no, adios, I don’t need you. There are countless of other vendors out there selling the same thing.

Every transaction I've had with GrabAGun has been flawless including firearm purchases.

Were you using a vpn when you tried to make the purchase? I prefer to be on-line with a vpn for privacy but I'm finding more and more vendors don't like first time purchases where computer location doesn't match credit card zip code.

Have never used VPN for anything. I was sitting at home ordering it. And, for non-firearm purchases, the shipping address is always the billing address.

Have you checked your credit card account for charges you didn't make?
Maybe there's something with the card that you're not aware of yet.

All the charges have been made by me. Nothing unusual.

It's a commodity product and like you I'd buy it elsewhere.

I wouldn't give them pictures of credit card either. I'd be betting that the security of that photo wouldn't be the same as the security on their e-commerce system.

The only firearms sites I recall uploading my driver's license was for ammo purchase, but I haven't purchased ammo from grabagun.

I just looked and my last purchase with them was for a forend grip flashilight and a bunch magpul m-lok accessories and I didn't experience any of the nonsense they're trying on you.

Is it possible you got snagged by a phishing link that LOOKED like GrabAGun?

Have you contacted them directly to be sure the request for pics was from them?

Seems like a potential scam to me.

Ordered directly from their website. CC was charged and order confirmed. When they emailed me later letting me know that their system flagged and canceled it for potentially fraudulent transaction and asked for photos of DL and CC for future orders, they also refunded my money. Which they did, because the exact amount was credited back to my card. So, it’s the real GrabAGun people. Scammers wouldn’t have refunded my money.

Similar thing happened with me recently but with Langdon Tactical. Ordered a custom pistol, paid, my inbound FFL was accepted & because it was a firearm sent in the mandatory DL pic.

Got a notice from the site that my order was accepted & in good standing, then out of the blue my purchase was refunded with no other communication a couple days later.

More than happy to spend the money elsewhere.

A DL for a damn light purchase. Nope.

It's not like they are Gunbroker.

Who issued the credit card and do they have any history of being anti-gun? Just throwing out a possibility. Because I doubt Grabagun can tell if a transaction is possibly fraudulent without the Credit Card company telling them that.

Fidelity CC. Highly doubt they are the culprit, since I have used the same CC for firearm related transactions elsewhere without issues.
