David LeeGovernment cheese cell phone..
Such a piece of crap device. It logs me into SIG Forum automatically. I log out, come back ten minutes later and I'm logged in again. Every damn time I reply to a post or, start a new thread, it takes me to yahoo/life ? I hit the back button to get back where I need to be. Myself, and a friend got the phones free at the US 25 yard sale. They sign you up, activate the phone and send you on your way. The service is free. The device can have issues which sometimes require pulling it's battery for a short time. I put none of my email, contacts or log in info on this.

Rey HRHThe phone is free. The service is free. And you’re pitching a bitch because it’s not the latest iPhone?
The program is a government program that pays the vendor so you can have a free to you phone with phone service. Government contracts are awarded to the lowest bidder who is in the business to make money. The income they get from the government is set. Guess how they increase their profits. By lowering their costs in the phones they sell to the government.
"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Indeed. I always figured those were for people so financially strapped they could barely put a roof over their heads--if not downright homeless, or food on the table--assuming they even
had a table upon which to put it.

The recipient typically views this sort of thing as free shit, correctly or not.

The recipient probably never has, or ever will, pay taxes.Let alone see this on a bill like we all see every time our phone bills come and we are automatically charged for all the free phones.
A phone is a luxury, NOT a right to be paid for by others.
I'm sure people are getting rich off this.
