Cinnamon I think. That’s what makes it that style of chili. Isn’t that the stuff called Cincinnati Chili that goes on top of spaghetti? Doesn’t have beans in it normally?

Skyline in the can is not bad. The flavor is about right it’s just a little on the runny side.

Skyline is chocolate and nutmeg
Gold Star is cinnamon

Goes on top of spaghetti and does not have beans in the chili but if you get a 4 way it’s a layer of spaghetti, layer of beans, layer of chili, then topped with cheese.

Skyline is better as a coney. Hot dog on a bun covered in chili, mustard, then topped with cheese.

It is really good with wrapped up in a soft tortilla with spaghetti noodles, mustard, and cheese.

I love Skyline and will be the first to admit that Chili is really not the right word for it.

I grew up on hormel, still love it on hotdogs with mustard, cheese, and diced onions.

In fact this is one of the only ways I will eat diced onions.

Bummer the Wendy's stuff doesn't hold up. Once in a while, I like a random bowl of their chili. I usually put a few fries in it.

Anything in a can will be "gringoed." Hormel is OK. After that, it's a fucking can, bro.

Hormel is the bottom of the barrel of what is acceptable. There are better canned chilis.

but where are they? The best I could find is the Hormel Angus previously mentioned.... No Wendy's at Publix... I would have probably bought a can just to see....not that I'm a connisurer of chili canned or homemade.

If you've tried every canned chili available at your local Publix and haven't found any better than Hormel, try going to another grocery store.

There are 6 stores in Florida, well 5, they are building one over in West Orlando area so we'll have it here, along with White Castle

They have one in Clearwater, so that's in your area.

It takes a real chef to fuck up chili. I had one add melted dark chocolate to an otherwise excellent chili. Dog wouldn't eat it...

There used to be one in Daytona Beach or South Daytona -- two contiguous cities and I'm not sure exactly where the city line is. It was on U.S. 1 (Ridgewood Avenue), just a bit north of Big Tree Road. Been closed for several years.

I couldn't enjoy it knowing I paid $5 for canned chili, no matter how good it might be.

Unfortunately, I am on the other coast. I used to go to the one in Fort Lauderdale, as that was the closest. I remember being a kid and going there 40+ years ago.

I love Wendy's Chili and get it whenever I am out and about even though it is not on my diet.

However, the best all around Chili is Trader Joes brand 'Organic vegetarian chili.' Yes, I am a meat eater but this Chili must be given credit. Spicy, chunky, and very tasty. Give it a try if you can I don't think you'd be disappointed.

I have never been to Trader Joe's, even though a new one opened near me a year or two ago. Might have to give them a visit if their chili is really that good.

Do they have a non-vegetarian version?

Dunno why I was thinking west coast....

They just had the grand opening down by Disney of the new Skyline, SIL and daughter called and got invited to the grand opening by the owner.

They have the new Brightline train from FT Lauderdale to Orlando, you could cruise up quickly for a taste of your childhood LOL
