Medicare advertising
FU Jimmie walker, joe Namath, bill shatner, and George foreman. Being in the aging target demographic adds to the annoyance. I liked it better when I was in the pepsi generation and was a pepper.

Working as a spokesperson in a low budget medicare ad is the last step before moving into a dingy room in an old hotel, eating pork and beans from the can with a plastic spoon.

And the plans they are advertising are pretty substandard Medicare plans.

If you call them, you'll definitely get what you deserve, not what you need or want.

I have too many friends that sign up for these bottom end plans, brag about how cheap they are and then piss and moan about the cost of simple medical procedures. I like my part G just fine.

I'm sorry if I hurt you feelings when I called you stupid - I thought you already knew - Unknown

I too, like my plan F. No co pays, no out of pocket, no deductible, nothing. Mrs. Flash has had 3 major operations, 2 on her back, and we haven't paid a cent.

Medicare should just change its ads to

"worked all your life and think the gubermint is gonna give your what you and your employers paid into, well think again! Bend over now, we got this pine cone goin' up your poop chute and no lube involved, just for you, you hard-workin' American!"

And they're targeted to poor people who want the extra $114 a month added to their social security and meals delivered.

These companies aren't in the charity business. They make their money one way or the other and definitely at the person's expense.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

I love how they fail to disclose the fact that your hospital and doctor may not be in the plan as they refuse to discount their professional fees. Two years ago the major hospital in my area opted out of all Medicare Advantage plans. The hospital owns 90 percent of the physicians practices. Lots of angry patients in the clinics.

What about the postcard you are supposed to fill out and mail back? Single sided, just fill out your name, address and birthdate and drop in a mailbox. Goes to a post office box with some generic name. And it’s free postage too!

Sure, I’ll fill out my personal information that is visible to anyone in the USPS and sent it to a post office box address even though I didn’t initially contact them. What could go wrong with that?

Get in touch with your inner creative self. I'm sure that you can drum up a suitable name and address when you fill out (fill in?) the postcard.
