Nice way of saying you are jacking up the price of my plan by $9 a month! Just think how much money they are instantly getting. They have over 300 million paid subscribers and if they are now getting $9 extra at the very least from every one of them every month, that is a ton of money! Every single thing just keeps going up except my pay. If I did my math right, that means they now get an extra $32.4 Billion a year from this increase. This message has been edited. Netflix is increasing its rates but not by $9 per subscriber. Here are Netflix's new pricing plans In an email to CBS MoneyWatch, Netflix said it's boosting its subscription plans for American customers by about $1 to $2.50 per month, depending on the plan. A standard plan with ads will rise to $7.99 a month from the current $6.99 A standard subscription will increase to $17.99 per month, versus the current $15.49 A premium plan will boost to $24.99 per month from $22.99 per month currently Adding an extra member will now cost $8.99, up from $7.99 Adding an extra member for the advertising-based plan will remain the same, at $6.99 per month, the company said. Netflix has been on a roll, driven by subscriber growth and price hikes. For the fourth quarter of 2024, the company reported net revenue of $10.2 billion, up from $8.8 billion in the year-ago period, while net income more than doubled to $1.9 billion. Netflix shares have soared 102% over the last 12 months as the company widens the gap with competitors. "Netflix has established a virtually insurmountable lead in the streaming wars," Wedbush analysts said in a report on Wednesday. https://www.msn.com/en-us/mone...Rq?ocid=BingNewsSerp

When you make huge profits, what do you do? Raise prices!

Ah, it would have been better if the email was worded the way you laid it out. Yes those are my new prices so it is going up $3 a month instead of $9. I am sure they will increase more soon enough. I have the premium plan with my mom as an extra member. NRA Benefactor Life Member

Glad to hear you're not getting hit too hard. Hoping they can go another 18 to 24 months with no increases.

They need more money to make woke movies. _________________________________________________________________________ “A man’s treatment of a dog is no indication of the man’s nature, but his treatment of a cat is. I dropped them a few months back. I'm not missing it. Considering the Obamas' involvement and Susan Rice, good riddance.

Interesting. I want 4k PQ but it’s rolled into their max plan with I don’t know how many TV’s per month. They don’t offer 4k, 1 TV at a time plan, which is where I’m at. If the price is going up, again, on the 4k plan I’ll either have to downgrade it or cancel it altogether and sign back up only when they have something I really want to watch that is platform specific. What they are wanting now for 4k, 1 single app is what my basic tv cable package was. It’s just not worth it. What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone

I just assumed I was getting 4K as my plan says “Premium Ultra HD”. I am on my iPad right now and looked at the settings in the Netflix app and it was set to “standard” so I had to switch it to “Higher” quality. I wonder if I have to go do that on each device and TV too. Never would have known if you hadn’t said that. If I am paying for premium, then it should be that by default! I really watch more stuff on Directv Stream than anything else. Geez, then as I am looking through settings, it is by default sharing all kinds of my information! I had to turn that off.
