Only took a week to mail a package to another member in the same state. Package went via priority mail and travel a total of 2.5 hours down the road ! The real kicker was the fact the package was also never scanned till it reached the destination P.O. so a total of 6 days wondering if it had gone missing !! And finally having stopped into my P.O. that I mailed from, you just gotta wait 10 biz days before anything else can be done for you !!! SMDH @ this whole thing...

Experiencing similar right now, sent a money order Tallahassee, FL to New York a few days ago (Priority Mail envelope).

Post office tracking took a couple days to update - surprise! - its in North Dakota, where its been for 3 days and a couple ND hubs.

Seller tells me when he sends money orders thru USPS he usually puts them in a small box, which next time around I'll try.

I also like to send items, including documents, using the small priority mailing box. I think the flat envelopes can be easier lost in the process. I have found issues at companies where the boxes had to be delivered to the receiving dock not to the office or individual I was sending the box to. I always put documents in an in an envelope and then in the box. One must be careful about what's in the documents and is it confidential to the office or individual you were sending it to.

Crazy thing is they had it to my local post office at 2:49am the day it was supposed to be delivered, but the numbskulls there sent it to Richmond where it sits at this moment. Total distance from the Amazon distribution center to my house is 23 miles (wife used to work there), yet USPS can’t even make the delivery on time.

My friend works for the USPS. He told me about baby chicks that sat in Omaha for 3 days. They all were very dead when they were finally delivered. Such a waste this entire entity has become.

I live in a townhouse with mail boxes in a cluster. The retarded mailwoman put the key in the wrong box or delivers the package the day after it was supposed to have been delivered. She was trained by very nice black gent. His opinion of her was worthless. I wish we had him back.

You call that "hitting it outta the park"? I guess my over-one-week-to-get-a-package-just-across-town is a grand slam, then. Lol.

Well, perhaps 'Somewhere looking for ammo that nobody has at a place I haven't been to for a pistol I couldn't live without' wouldn't fit on the address field... Wink

Having the same problem: "In Transit to Next Facility, Arriving Late." Something about major changes in their delivery network system.

Yeah, but I do put my ZIP code at the end. Big Grin

That and a few Senators are investigating the same post office. For now I'm supposed to wonder how well the diversity score is when their on time delivery rate is at 36 percent?

Been able to get FedEx to deliver from Tokyo in less time than I've had boxes camp out at 30268.

It wasn't a package, but it took 20 days for a letter mailed from the Eastern Shore of Maryland to just west of Baltimore.

John

The key to enforcement is to punish the violator, not an inanimate object. The punishment of inanimate objects for the commission of a crime or carelessness is an affront to stupidity.

I ordered some parts from MGW last week. They were supposed to be delivered yesterday, and were at our local post office yesterday morning. Then for some reason instead of putting them on the truck for delivery, they sent them to Elkhart, which is a county north of us. Now it's back in Indianapolis, almost two hours south. WTF?

^That sounds like the crux of the problem- USPS's initiative to transition from local distribution points to regional hubs. While increasing efficiency and lowering costs long-term, their short-term execution has been just short of disastrous.

A bipartisan group of 26 senators is now calling on the Postal Service to pause its network upgrade until the situation can be re-evaluated.

Ordered three parts from RockAuto, apparently some are coming from different warehouses, so, three parts, three shipments...

Two arrived today, as predicted by the UPS email, one is set for tomorrow and the tracker shows it's on it's way...
