In search of a set of 94/95 Mustang Spindles. Contacted local fella from some classifieds that says he is parting out a few SN95 Mustangs and has pics of 94/95s on the ad.

So I message him asking if he has a set of 94/95 Spindles? If so, how much?

His response is call me and gives me his phone number.
There is no need for a call just answer the question.

I don’t like to do either and have zero time to talk on the phone.

But you have time to text and wait on a reply that may take a while to come ?

Generational differences. I use whatever platform is more efficient. I certainly do not have the patient to use text for conversation. Text is helpful in my business.

Exactly.
With work and kids I have about seven and a half seconds at any given time to actually do anything.

So I can send a message be done and wait for an answer. Check for an answer the next time I may have another free seven and a half seconds.
Which may be in 5 minutes may be in 5 hours, maybe in 5 days.

Hence the reason this Mustang project has been going on for 15 years now. First 5 years I had zero money to put toward it. Now I have money I just have zero time to work on it.
Have LOTS of parts just zero time to work on it.

^^^ Understand completely. A text I can read and respond to when time allows. A call requires seeking and then getting a connection, chit chat and then an answer (at a minimum). Way more time than a text and much more social obligation.

Agree, he could have said, yes easily, call me to discuss price, condition, left, right, etc. Then again, while I don't mind a little back and forth text, I'd rather just talk to someone in a quick conversation vs 47 back and forth texts that take up more time than a simple call.

You want the parts, call him next time you take a dump, instead of looking online for things LOL at least you shouldn't be interrupted during the call...

How hard is it to find the parts you're looking for? If you want them and need them just bite the bullet and contact the guy. Shouldn't take more than a few minutes.

I have a similar complaint, but for a different reason.

I can't count the number of times that I have written (in text, email, FAX, or regular letter), "I am hearing impaired, so telephone is NOT an option; I need to communicate in writing," and then I receive a reply asking for a phone number to contact me, or they will give me a phone number (typically a landline, so text won't work) and ask me to call them.

You don't have time to call the guy but you have time to post a complaint on this forum? The time it took you to type your complaint and respond to others comments you could have called the guy, got your answer and maybe had your parts.

You do realize there are many times that I can post here but I am not able to make an actual phone call?

I don't want to talk on the phone to anyone. Period.

I've not bought a lot of things because of this. I've missed out on selling even more.

Oh well.

When I had my online business that was in the website FAQ.- Why is there no phone number listed? "Because I don't want to talk to you."

I can’t hear in one ear and have comprehension issue with the spoken word, text or email is wayyyyy better for me.

If this comes up in the future, just text em and say you can’t hear-use text.

With the amount of scammers out there, I’d want a call just to weed them out. I’d want to talk directly to see if you’re the real deal. If you can’t find five minutes sometime to call me, then you don’t have the time to buy them.

Just because something is legal to do doesn't mean it is the smart thing to do.

I am also the type that prefers talking to texting for that type of business.

how do you have time to restore or repair said vehicles if you don't have time to make a phone call to get the parts YOU want?
