Do the new fangled hearing aids still whistle ,every once and a while?

My ex m.i.l. had a pair that would ,under the exact right conditions ,

You would have to let her know as she could not hear it.

My step-Mom's would. I think they may have been ITE style, but she'd reach up and touch her ear with her index finger and you could hear it whistling. Not sure she was even aware she was doing it, just a "nervous habit" I suspect.

I could hear it from several feet away, must have been REALLY loud in the ear.

So far, the only issues with my OTE Phonaks is wind noise if the wind comes from the right direction and itchy ear canals.
