Federal Law ( ADA ) does not grant protection to emotional support animals .

Not ADA, I was just referring to the fact we had to make only 3 of 27 apartments ADA compliant, not all 27. But all 27 could have "doctor slips" for emotional support animals and we'd have to comply. You’re not allowed to deny ESA nor are you allowed to charge fees if the tenant has a letter from their doctor. They are protected by the FHA. No car is as much fun to drive, as any motorcycle is to ride.

I'm in my 50s and I still do it. I only take my dog to the pet store and she walks around. Never in a cart. Not minority enough!

This. We just had someone manipulate their way into our duplex threatening with an “emotional” support dog AND cat. Apparently, the dog only does certain emotions? The cat must cover the rest. What a joke. Buy a house and do what you want. But if you’re going to rent, you should comply with the landlord’s requirements. If you cannot afford a place yourself, why should I allow your pet in? I’m a total animal lover, but I’ve also seen what people do when they don’t own the property and keep pets. There’s a real reason why people don’t allow pets in their rentals or make tenants pay huge nonrefundable deposits. They’re pigs. __________________________ "Trust, but verify."

Yep. It may have been enacted with good intention but now it's totally abused. The whole "landlords must accept emotional support animals" regulation needs overturned. I guess we should start emailing the FHA. No car is as much fun to drive, as any motorcycle is to ride.

A real service dog is bombproof. He stays next to his human and is always watching him. There’s no wandering, no sniffing. When you watch fake dogs, they are all over and distracted. What are they allowed? The management lacks the courage to confront the fake “ Is this a service dog?” “What service does it provide?” The majority of the time the fakes get over. “ The work of destruction is quick, easy and exhilarating; the work of creation is slow, laborious and dull.

A few places around here actually encourage bringing well-behaved pets. Lowe's and Rural King are a couple of examples. RK even gives them a free pig ear if you bring them in. Moose likes car rides so if I'm going to one of those places sometimes I'll bring him along. But he's not coming to a restaurant, or a grocery store, or any place he's not welcome. There'd be no passing that idiot off as a "service animal" even if I wanted to, lol. ----------------------------------------------------------- Any comments made by this poster are my own and do not reflect the views or opinions of my employer.

Pippi, my Corgi rescue girl, loved to go to the Credit Union with me. She would stay quietly by my side and the tellers would come out from behind the counter to interact with her and give her doggie treats. הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים

I have no issue SO LONG as the pet (and owner) are well behaved. ________________________________________ -- Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. Something that I do NOT like: Baggers at the checkout register try to put my food items in the seat area, where babies with poopy diapers sit. הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים

My wife has a master’s in microbiology and is a born catastrophizer. Nevertheless, I have to agree that seeing dogs’ anuses in shopping carts, or eating off a restaurant table, is just frigging disgusting and unhealthy. _________________________ “Remember, remember the fifth of November!"

I love me some pooches, but folks taking their dogs with them everywhere has been a gripe of mine for a long while now. Ok, let me back up... Not EVERYWHERE, but hospitals. I work at a VA Hospital- the biggest one between Albuquerque and Okie City. There are way more dogs here now than I ever see at Farm & Ranch stores, grocery stores, pharmacies, banks, vehicle tag office, drivers license office, sporting goods stores, restaurants, picture shows, gun shows, civic center stuff, or even church. I could handle a pooch at a restaurant- but at a HOSPITAL where a pretty major effort is made to keep the place clean and prevent any type of cross contamination and infections? We don't treat pediatrical nose miners, but Lord bless the little miracles of life- we love to see em, but we see almost as many little yap dogs in baby strollers as we do wee-uns. Actual Service Dogs are allowed in some areas of a Hospital by law . Common sense prevails . Emotional Support / Pets are not unless the Hospital chooses to .

No . No, it really doesn't . At least not around here . We have FAR more run of the mill yap dogs enter here than any type of actual service dog. Rednecks- Keeping the woods critter-free since March 2, 1836.
