I posted a WTB ad in the classifieds here. Keep in mind I was seeking an M&P Compact in 357 Sig. A guy responded telling me he had one for a fair price. I sent him a list of questions and here is his thorough response. Can you tell me what's wrong with his response? Here it is:

Ummm he's telling you it's a used pistol that's nearly new.

Then he's saying it comes with the slide, frame etc, to customize the gun, then he's quoting what looks to be from the S+W website with the various options..like these sights or those sights....I'd pass as it seems a little too scammish for my tastes......

Close jimmy123x; but, you are assuming he is describing both the make and model of pistol I seek. Read it a little closer and tell me what he is describing.

I see Siglites so I'm assuming a Sig.

Looks to me like a description of a SIG P320c in 9mm, when you wanted to buy an M&P Compact in .357 SIG.

It also appears to just have been cut and pasted from a manufacturer's website, raising the question of if he even has the gun.

I just did a search and I think I found your WTB ad.

In all fairness to the responder who offered you a SIG, your WTB ad does say
quote:
I might entertain another brand
although you did specify .357 SIG and the offer that you quoted seemed to be for a 9 mm.

V-Tail, that is correct. However, his first e-mail said the following: "I HAVE Smith and Wesson M&P compact in 357Sig FOR SALE AT A FAIR PRICE LET ME KNOW IF YOU ARE STILL INTERESTED". I then responded with questions about his M&P as to number of mags, which sites, any other information. He then responded with the contents in my OP here.

It looks like they just took a standard description off the mfg's web site.

I would have been wary of the attachments.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

That was my thought too when I read

Caliber: 9x19mm (Also available .40 S&W, .357 SIG, .45 ACP)

This reads like a cut/paste from a website.
