When the Management Sucks but the Craftsman (Stone Fabricators) are Outstanding
Today, yes - Sunday morning, we're having stone countertops installed. It's happening today, instead of last Saturday (eight days ago) because the fabrication shop management didn't reserve our slab and because the same management didn't arrange for the install team yesterday AND "only cut remnant to largest rectangle possible" translated to applying the same type edge to remnant as the countertop (mitered edge) . Then, to add the insult, the balance due doesn't reflect the the actual amount of the deposit given.

Toss in two weeks ago when they came to template it. The management failed to communicate the team would be hee at 0800 - sharp - and part of the templating is removing the countertops and kitchen sink. Would've been nice to know as dishes from the night before would need to be cleaned and dishwasher run.

Now the fabricators and install team - the countertop was made as one piece vice two with a corner seam, the remnant's underside has zero epoxy overflow, and THEY brought us coffee and doughnuts because they know how screwed up Maria and Lynette are. And dang, these guys did some great work. No visible seams, a can of sealer for us, etc.

Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

We had a similar experience with our roof replacement. We went with the lowest bidder.

Quality materials, outstanding workmanship, and the most screwed up back office imaginable.

Take it. It beats hell out of folks who show up on time and do bad work.
