I like my SiriusXM but not enough to pay $30.00 a month for it so each year I pay the cancel dance.
They have automated the process with a chatbot so you don’t even have to talk to a real person.

Its like a gun store I used to go to. Everything was over priced, but if you made a reasonable offer they would take it. Their model was to sell to people who didn’t know any better.
SiriusXM (and many others) will give you a decent price for a year banking that people will not catch it when the price jumps. Its just business but it feels sleazy. At least they have made it easy.

before the advent of streaming music, i used to like arguing with siriusxm until i got it down to $5/mo. I said I listen to three channels.

I have tried this with SiriusXM Guardian and it doesn't work. I said I only want to use it for remote locking/unlocking. I don't care about remote start, theft tracking, etc. They still want $200/yr. Nope. It was free when I had bmws so I am spoiled. In fact, I can still see where my last bmw is and where the current owner lives. Time to delete the app from my phone.

I have a three year, no auto renewal pre-paid subscription for $108 total. All taxes/fees included. Also includes App access to listen on my phone to get all kinds of channels. $3/month total.

I think they are going to eventually turn into another Spotify or Apple Music with no satellites and streaming only.

When they ask why I am cancelling, I say "Apple CarPlay".
And as if by magic, its goes from $30 a month to 10!
You would think, after all these years, they would tire of this game.

Certainly hope not. Despite being in one of the five richest per capita counties in Michigan we have many dead spots even for cellular phones. And don’t get me started on Up North.

I think that the word “smarmy” was invented to describe SiriusXM’s marketing practices.

For most of us, most areas, streaming whatever you want through the phone is an easy option. I do the free level of the ‘I Heart Radio’ app. I’ve not measured, but a commercial every 5-6 songs or so, no biggie.

Came free with our new Chevrolet EV's 3 months and we didn't sign up or renew, got a few mail notices asking us to sign up, but I really don't want to help fund Sterns lifestyle.

Pandora, Spotify, Prime Music take care of all I need streaming music wise at no charge, I don't mind a few ad's now and then.

I was a Sirius subscriber for years, had docking mount in the RV wired to our Sony sound system,plus the truck mount. Even bought the boombox. For some unknown reason, we could not get a decent signal here in the woods. I enjoyed traveling all over the country and never had to change the channel.

Now, better results with I Heart Radio. I Heart even owns our local country classic station KMJX 105.1

I had barely gone a week with the new Subaru when they sent me a letter begging me to sign up because my trial would be running out in 3 months.

I had XM Radio 20 years ago and loved it but something happened when they merged with Sirius, seems like they became way more commercial-radio-like and only play the "safe" well known and (to me tired) hits when I tune into the classic rock or alt rock channels over the past 3 months now. I'm just not hearing any deep tracks, B-sides or lesser hits or any of that stuff anymore.

And I'm sorry but compared to Spotify Premium which I have, it still sounds very "tinny" and "hollow" to me and I have the 9 speaker premium system. My local indie radio station in comparison sounds AMAZING over HD radio!

The trial runs out next week and I will not be signing up.

I would like to have Sirius turned back on at a reasonable rate. I’ve even done it a couple times but inevitably it renews at the full price.

They want a credit card, after explaining that I cannot trust them with my credit I’ve ended a 20 year relationship with them. That was about 5 years ago, I’ve since turned to Apple for my entertainment source.

Just did that for both our vehicles.
Was getting ready to just cancel it because Gus Lloyd was my main reason for having set
Sirius and he just retired.
But at $6 a month for 2 cars for 3 years I decided to keep it rolling.

I asked for $1 a month and they said they could not do that. I said then let's cancel it. They said how about $2.99 a month for 12 months. I agreed.

Damn. Next year I need to up my negotiation skills.

I would play the game too and eventually get down to $5 a month.

I finally got sick of the "DJ" hosts they would have on the channels. The entire reason I am paying for music is to listen to music. I don't want to hear someone talk and give me Kardashian news updates between songs.

If I traveled alot I would have taken the deal but if you listen to the same channel it gets repetitive so i just use my amazon music
