YooperSigsFantastic ! American Rifleman Goes Digital
One the few things I found useful about my NRA membership was being able to read American Rifleman. An actual magazine. Not anymore!

Its now going digital to be viewed on my computer.
Wow... Lucky me!

kz1000I like reading actual physical magazines as well. I'm only a member because my shooting range requires it.

Patrick-SP2022The Texas State Rifle Association (TSRA) did the same thing a year or two ago.
I preferred the print magazine as well.

flesheatingvirusYes, but do we prefer it ENOUGH to pay extra for it? Look at the prices of magazines next time you are in a store that actually has them.

jaaron11You can opt to receive a quarterly print copy in addition to the digital copy. You have to log in to your NRA account to select that option. The default is digital delivery only.

GT-40DOCI am with you guys, I don't like the digital idea one bit. I liked to read a magazine in my lazy-boy!!

fiasconvaI don't like it one bit either but I went online and selected the quarterly print copy as well as digital and got my Feb mag in the mail yesterday.

YooperSigsI went ahead and opted for the digital/ quarterly subscription. I did it with the online chat messenger and in true NRA fashion, at the end of my conversation the dude wanted me to donate money.
I told him that other than my yearly membership, there will be no more money until NRA purges all of the Friends of Wayne and cuts down the size of the executive board.

12131Interesting. I’ve been a Lifer for probably close to twenty years. They stopped sending me their paper copies years ago. Then, all of a sudden, I received the latest edition just a few days ago. So, what the hell changed at headquarters?

calugoI hate digital subscriptions, I guess I'm old school and still enjoy reading a paper magazine. I can understand the push towards digital because there's no print cost so more money in the magazines pocket.

mesabiI too enjoy print... But I've got more than 35 years of American Rifleman stacked up. There'll be some article or piece of information that comes to mind, and I'll search through the yearly indexes until I find what I'm looking for or get sidetracked by some other article that catches my attention. They take up a lot of room.
I'll be fine with a digital subscription where I can print off something I want to save or search for past articles. When I croak there won't be as much for someone else to dispose of.

scratchyI too received a print copy today. Odd because I have been getting digital delivery for a decade. I did notice that there is a ballot stapled inside. I wonder if that is why the physical copy.

357fuzzI still get Guns and Ammo and whatever the name of the mag is that replaced Shotgun News in the mail. Had such a good deal on the subscription I couldn’t pass it up. Enjoy paging through a real magazine or book. Better for our brains too I heard…

NRA ENDOWMENT LIFE MEMBER
January 27, 2026, 11:06 AM
Fly-SigI paid a life membership to assist NRA's efforts to protect the 2A, not to receive a magazine. Digital saves them money, so that is my choice. If I really wanted the paper magazine I would donate a reasonable equivalent subscription cost to cover it.
January 27, 2026, 02:21 PM
229DAKI'm sure they are working to cut costs where they can. By going from four to two magazines, they probably cut around 50% of their publication staff.

sjtillI went to the NRA site, looked all over to sign up for the digital mag and couldn't find it.
Probably in front of my nose. That's the way things are now. But in real life my wife finds it when it's right there in front of me.

Me too...Unfortunately, it's become apparent that's NOT actually a priority for the NRA!
