Anyone notice that magically our illegal immigrant and border problem has reverted to the term “migrants,” as in “passing through?” Bullshit! They are here to stay and most of them have no intention of ever going home. Is this to make it more palatable for the states that are getting just a small taste of what those of us in border states are expected to pay for and deal with all the time?

Well, "migrant" means migrating, so …

What I really dislike is the euphemism "undocumented" for illegal.

I don't think the term means much, call them what you want, absolute bullshit at this point. Just Democrat voters, I guess.

Seems Mexico uses the term also;

https://news.yahoo.com/mexican...rains-220341689.html

Quote from link:

MEXICO CITY (AP) — A Mexican railway operator announced Tuesday it is temporarily suspending train runs in the northern part of the country because so many migrants are climbing aboard freight cars and getting hurt in the process.

Ferromex said it has temporarily ordered a halt to 60 trains carrying cargo that would fill 1,800 tractor trailers. It said some international trade would be affected by the stoppage.

In recent days, there have been about a "half-dozen regrettable cases of injuries or deaths” among migrants hopping freight cars, the company said in a statement.

The company, owned by conglomerate Grupo Mexico, said some migrants even hopped on moving freight cars “despite the grave danger that represents.”

“There has been a significant increase in the number of migrants in recent days,” Ferromex said in the statement, adding that it was stopping the trains “to protect the physical safety of the migrants,” while it awaited action by authorities to solve the problem.

It said there were about 1,500 people gathered at a rail yard in the city of Torreon, in the northern border state of Coahuila. The company also reported about 800 migrants waiting at the freight yards in Irapuato, in the north-central state of Guanajuato.

End quote.

Sir, we are phasing out that terminology. It highlights the fact that they have illegally entered the country from foreign lands. The preferred term is immigrants or asylum seekers. This change allows us obfuscate the many laws broken from their origin to within our borders and helps minimize the negative connotations of the fact that they are here illegally. Plus people can't be illegal.

Please get with the times and use the left's/MSM's chosen terminology/spin.

Hadn't heard that one. It's perfect leftspeak, implying these people are fleeing some sort of persecution as opposed to chasing a free ride.

Many are just hardworking people looking for a better life. A lot of them would make better citizens than natural born citizens. My problem with them is the illegal immigration part and the twisting of words to say they should be here.

In fact I'm all for increased merit based immigration. Got a degree and a job lined up you get preference then work down the line on value they'd provide to the country. There has to be a trade off though. Lock down the border and vet all who apply to immigrate. If you break immigration laws no admittance for five years or more.

It's a giant lie that they are asylum seekers, they are looking for jobs/opportunity. Just because your country sucks doesn't mean you are eligible to be a refuge.

That point is missed by many, and intentionally ignored by the media and politicians.

Immigrants who want to achieve the American Dream are a good thing. They bring in productivity and creativity. Their kids grow up to be successful contributors to society. Most of us have ancestors who arrived here with nothing and then worked harder than we can even imagine to make things better for their kids. The problem is the freeloaders who don't want to work, who don't want to assimilate, who bring their 3rd world here, and many of whom are really just criminals (or worse).

More liberal insanity...

Adams reacts to Biden admin legalizing thousands of migrants after saying crisis will 'destroy' NYC

quote:
"Temporary protected status provides individuals already present in the United States with protection from removal when the conditions in their home country prevent their safe return," Mayorkas said in a statement. "That is the situation that Venezuelans who arrived here on or before July 31 of this year find themselves in. We are accordingly granting them the protection that the law provides. However, it is critical that Venezuelans understand that those who have arrived here after July 31, 2023, are not eligible for such protection, and instead will be removed when they are found to not have a legal basis to stay."

Why is it more dangerous to return to their homes if they snuck in before 7-31-23, but perfectly safe to return home if they jumped the boarder after that date?

The problem with even the nice hard workers is that every single one of their babies born here immediately receive Medicaid, WIC, SNAP, etc. Pregnant moms get qualified for Medicaid too. Parkland Hospital in Dallas held the record for years for most babies born in any hospital in the USA and better than 90% were those babies. Wonder why Texas cant expand Medicaid for its own residents or rates so low on the education scale? We are taking care of and educating half of Mexico.
