Every time I call the doctor or come in to see the doctor, I'm asked this question. I started lying about it a long time ago. Yes, I've had it. Yes, I know what the symptoms are like. Yes, I could be putting others at risk for catching it, and guess what? I don't fucking care. I've taken dozens (and I'm not exaggerating) of these goddamn tests and I'm not doing it anymore. It's been nearly five years now. The data is conclusive. It's 99.99+% survivable unless you're over the age of 80, and then it's 98% survivable. Oh. Dear. People go to the doctor when they're sick. If you would rather huff microplastics that will stay in your lungs forever rather than risk getting sick with a sniffle, then wear your fucking mask and be about your business. ______________________________________________ Carthago delenda est

Pretty much. I’ve had more Covid tests than I can count. I have the same reply. No symptoms. No tests. All is good. Influenza has a much higher mortality rate. I still don’t get a flu shot. The “lol” thread

I would give them a quizzed look. What chu talkin' 'bout??? "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Goddamnit Smudge. This thread and my stupid reply. Wife felt cold, headache, sore throat. Took two at home tests. Positive. I reluctantly took one. Still negative bitches. Superior genetics. The “lol” thread

As I posted in the Weird Doctor Visit about my Urgent Care visit, why would I get tested for Covid, tested positive and then told that I should let it run its course? I don’t get any pleasure from having a swab stuffed into my sinus cavities, that’s a given. I’m going to see a alleged health care professional for treatment. I sure the hell don’t need to pay fifty bucks for my temperature, b.p., and oxygen levels to be checked, I want medications to (a) reduce the severity of an illness, (b) keep whatever I have from getting worse especially when I’m in several high risk categories and (c) keep from possibly transmitting whatever I have to my wife (who’s also over 65) I’m happy that I have a great cardiologist, orthopedic and urologist on my side. -------------------------------------—————— ————————--Ignorance is a powerful tool if applied at the right time, even, usually, surpassing knowledge(E.J.Potter, A.K.A. Staring back from the abyss |
I picked up a nasty bug that's been going through the region like wildfire. Most have attached the moniker, "Summer Covid". I figured it was just a bad cold until I lost my ability to smell and taste. That kind of spooked me a bit so I went in to the lab and the tech tickled my nose hairs. Negative. Waited 48 hours and did a self test where I actually got the swab back where it should be. Still negative. On a side note, most folks who've been getting this bug have been knocked down for 10-14 days. On day two I started dosing with my homemade elderberry syrup, vitamin C, zinc, garlic, and honey. Healthy foods (chicken soup) and plenty of water, and I was done in three days and my ability to smell and taste returned. Old fashioned still works! Whodathunkit? Mom and grandma were some pretty smart old broads. ________________________________________________________ "Great danger lies in the notion that we can reason with evil." Doug Patton.

Don't get sick, no clot shot. Drink lots of beer and coffee, eat wrong and go on.

I'm laughing my ass off, but I do feel bad. It's not like I woke up and decided that today was the day I'd developed the power to make people stick things up their nose against their will. Hey man, I hope she feels better soon.
That's damn right. If you're not gonna treat me because it's a cold and it has to run it's course, then why do we need to know if it's Covid since that's what you're gonna tell me if it's Covid? If it's flu, you're gonna tell me to take Tamiflu, and let it run it's course. What's the fucking point? Imagine you go to a doctor because you aren't getting better on your own, they say "yup, you're sick, here's some medicine."
I'm pretty well convinced those tests are fucking worthless, even the ones they run through a lab. False negatives, false positives... false tests. It's all a scam.
Glad you're doing better. The old ways still work, huh? ______________________________________________ Carthago delenda est

I’ve taken two tests when it first popped up. Have not had a test since then. No shots, no boosters and no masks. Still alive in spite of all the dire warnings and fear mongering.

I got the covid very early in the madness. Never got the jab and they never ask me. I wish they would stop asking me if I've fallen down. I'm only 64.

I suppose I should be grateful for the tests. I've only ever taken two. First was back at the beginning of the whole COVID thing when everybody was panicking. I got exposed at work, had some symptoms, and work sent me to get tested. They didn't have the rapid tests yet and it came back negative a couple of days later. Still got sent home for a week, with pay, and didn't even have to use sick or comp time to cover it. Free vacation #1. Second time, quite a few months later, I felt fine but lost sense of smell. Got sent back for a rapid test, came back positive. Got sent home again, but it was my scheduled short week so only two free days off that time. Never felt sick, kept up my running and workout routine, didn't quarantine from my family, and nobody else got sick. Free vacation #2. These days I don't see the point. No free days off of work anymore, and if it does come back positive it's not going to change the treatment plan. Suck it up, ride it out.

To clarify why I've had dozens, I got diagnosed with cirrhosis at the height of the pandemic and was in and out of the hospital and clinics on a regular basis. This was also smack dab in the middle Seattle and Tacoma. To even be seen or show up for an appointment, I had to have a negative test result a few days prior or they wouldn't even see me. I stopped counting how many times I drove through their clean room tent in the parking lot with all those technicians milling about in hazmat suits with the air pumps. If I said my resentment of that bullshit and being one of the very last states in the union to drop Covid protocols wasn't a major factor in us leaving, I'd be lying out my ass. So no, I won't take a goddamn Covid test here in Arizona. Yes, I'll lie about it and tell them it was negative. I'm not jamming any more q-tips up my nose for anyone, and that one angry black lady who jammed one up into my sinus cavities while slowly and loudly counting to ten can fucking rot in hell, and I hope she has the same smug smile on her face while Satan stuffs a glowing poker up her ass. ______________________________________________ Carthago delenda est

Our daughter is due next month. She gave us a list of shots we had to have prior to holding the baby. DTap, Covid, Flu, etc. After a lot of talking to doctors and doing our research, we declined the shots. Now, she won't talk to us.

My sister pulled that shit with my mother when my nephew was born. She used her first born child to extort my mother into getting experimental gene therapy shots that she didn't want to get. She couldn't override the matriarchal instinct and acquiesced. I can't put into words the anger I felt at the time, and it still really, really bothers me. It deeply affected my relationship with my sister, which wasn't great to begin with. As far as I know, my nephew got the vaccine as soon as they could get it into him, along with his boosters. When we visited them last year, nobody was masking, and nothing was said or asked of the shots or boosters we didn't have. I think she eventually realized she was being lied to and probably isn't proud of it. I try not to be bitter about it, but those are decisions she made. I think your daughter will eventually get over it, but you're going to have to wait a bit. ______________________________________________ Carthago delenda est

My wife actually has a severe case of the Cooties, she came back from visiting her middle daughter in Florida and got stranded in Atlanta, Yada yada…. Going on 2 weeks now she’s felt like dookie, took the test the 2nd day and it was positive, she’s an anti vax person and is pissed off she’s got this crap. I had a mild cold when she came back and right away “ you got me sick” hahaha… I was better in a day and she got worse, she said I should take the test and I told her I’m not putting shit up my nose but my finger. My former doc wanted me to get tested when I went in during the height of the bullshit and that’s why he’s my former Doc. The only time I willingly took the test was last year when I had 2 pulmonary embolisms. I was out of it so I didn’t care. I do remember the first question the ER doc asked was if I had been “vaccinated “…I guess I embarrassed the better half when I said fuck no and if you try and jab me when I’m down I’ll beat your ass. Apparently he got the message
