Especially with something in the coat pocket. This triggers me softly

I got tired of struggling with getting access to the damn seat belt buckle. I bought extensions and problem solved!
Bonus: It shuts off the beeping if you decide you dont want to buckle up!

Extensions are the way to go.

Don't use the extensions but they are free from the manufacturers. Just a PSA

Over the years I’ve asked several different dealers for extensions for my new vehicles and every time they act like they have never heard of such a thing. Confused

How (where) can I get these free extensions?

Vehicle manufacturer is GM (Cadillac). Wife's is Toyota.

I have used seat belt extenders by this company for years, and have been very happy with them.

In addition to making it easier to get buckled, as mentioned they also fool the sensor into thinking the belt is buckled. That’s a great convenience when the belt doesn’t need to be as when I’m driving down to change a target on a shooting range. The warning in my car not only never stops unless the belt is buckled, but it gets louder if ignored: just one of many things I hate about how the vehicle has been “improved” over my old one.

I’ve seen claims that extenders are unsafe, and I suppose that’s true of some, but these seem to be very well made and they address the issue of safety on the site.

I get mine from Seatbeltextenderpros too. My luck with getting them from the dealer has not been good, with the excuse generally that they are not in stock and the order time is uncertain.

The dealer where you bought them. Call the parts department
