I really don't understand some of these shipping times. I had an item shipped on the 27th from a location only 82 miles away in Brockton, MA. Estimated delivery date is 1/6. Today, it is in CT at a location 93 miles from Brockton and now over a 130 miles from me. Wonder where else it will visit before it gets here.

It's the Christmas season. Shipped items get queued for delivery based upon when they were ordered/shipped.

I try to use USPS. Packages come into Nashua and then directly to my post office. Things ordered locally come in a couple days that way.

QVC is good for that. I remember checking an a package was in PA and I'm in WV and then two days later it says Cali. I think some businesses send packages the cheapest option to make more profit but charge you a higher shipping rate or list free shipping so they go lowest cost. Most people I deal with are good about quick shipping. Dell comes to mind, usually two days.

That's nothing. I just ordered an Akubra hat. There is an automatic THREE MONTH wait for one.

This was an order from Orvis. It is almost a straight shot up 95 to where I live. It sure is taking a circuitous route to get here.

For what its worth sometimes the locations are bogus. I was in Toronto for work several years ago and was expecting a critical part that was being overnighted. It went from Louisville (as all air stuff does from just about anywhere in the US) to Toronto and then it showed somewhere in New Brunswick. I called UPS and was told it wasn't actually there but it was a glitch that happened when it went for customs. Obviously customs isn't a factor here but something similar may happen.

I am convinced that the shipping locations from the USPS are bogus. My most recent delivery was in transit for days, and then an attempted delivery well after office hours. It was then "Out for Delivery" for two days. I stayed late well past the time of the first "attempted delivery." The next day it said unable to deliver because address was illegible. At that point I called Amazon and received a small credit. Two days later a postal vehicle pulls up well after dark with two postal workers to deliver the package. The address was neatly typed.

I do not have this problem with Fed EX or UPS even over the holidays with substitute drivers. If I recall correctly USPS workers are the highest paid semi skilled workers in the world.

I'm not convince it's not an Amazon issue. I ordered a Prime item on Wednesday with two day delivery. It's scheduled to be delivered on Jan 6th. My math says that's 8 days not 2.

DSG here in Fort Worth has started doing something retarded with their shipping. I live 30 min. away, packages arrived the next day whether shipped USPS or UPS. Now they’re doing this sure post fed ex crap. Last order took all week to get here.

Was it a watch? I hear they disappear into the customs black hole on a regular basis.

I ordered a jacket and some pants from "Working Persons Store" on the 19th. Today is the 25th and it's still processing. I've had good luck with most of the stuff I've gotten from them, but they have got to be one of the slowest companies I've ever dealt with. I once ordered a shirt and it was too small (should have fit, just didn't). I sent it back and they sent me the next size up. That whole exchange took close to a month and a half. Eek

They ship for free.... "no rush". They aint kidding. They must put them on a pile and when and if they get caught up with the paid shipping orders, they must do a few of those. Wink
This time I paid for shipping just to see if it would be any faster. I get the feeling it won't be.

My best was ordering a baseball glove from several states away, at 11pm one night. By 11am the next day it was on my door step. Standard shipping. It came so fast it confused me as to what was in the box. The worst was probably a cheap, run of the mill hat I ordered that took three weeks to get here. I ordered it from a place that's about a 30 minute drive from here. They could have crawled it to my house in less time. Big Grin
