Overused term Gaslighting
Not to drift but did the MSM instantly become the legacy media?

Gas lighting isn't just a lie, it's lie in the face of obvious contradictions to the lie. Not just a lie, an insulting lie.

Yes, I think this is more it. The subject has seen something and recognizes it as fact, then someone else comes along and says “oh, you didn’t actually see that…” and makes them question their own perception of what they saw/heard with their own eyes.

Yes, that. And there is nothing wrong with using the so common ones that just about everyone knows what they are without looking them up.

I haven't really noticed it being overused anywhere. Except in Reddit stories. Stop listening to Reddit stories.

I don’t think it’s overused at all, in fact, I don’t think it’s used enough when it comes to our media and the Democrats.

Like someone else pointed out, Kamala Harris was literally appointed and named as the border czar and all they did was talk about it for months and then all of a sudden when she was selected to replace Joe, she wasn’t and they insisted she had never been that. That is the most blatant example of gaslighting I’ve seen in years.

Even beyond that, it is an abusive tactic intended to allow the perpetrator to conduct additional future transgressions. It is intended to make the victim question their future observations, too.

Gaslighting, as already defined, is a form of psychological abuse where a person causes someone to question their sanity, memories, or perception of reality. Precisely as was done in the movie of the same name.

Unless repeated references to KH as border czar causes someone to question their own sanity, it is no way a form of gaslighting. Lies are lies, but the media apparently believes it is more trendy to call them gaslighting. Once a phrase takes root, they all jump on it without knowing or caring what it really means.
