NuclearStopped at an Arby’s drive thru for lunch today. I was driving my mother around for appointments and shopping. $14 and some change for two drinks and two classic sandwiches that were on sale for $6. I didn’t mind the cost so much as how long we waited when we got to front of the drive thru for the sandwiches, and the lame excuse they were busy. Yeah, it’s called lunch hour, you moron.

I can't think of any other reason to go back to Taco Bell other than losing a bet.
I’ve found it to be a reliable cure for constipation.

Mars_AttacksWe went to Applebees today and gorged with several dollaritas, getting out for just over $40 with tip.
It's CHEAPER to eat at a restaurant than McDonalds.
Heck, at the deli at our Publix you can get two pieces of chicken, two veggies and a roll for under $6. I do this lunch twice a month.
My local sandwich shop, Baldino's had daily specials for $5.99 and it's a HUGE sandwich.

drill sgtSeeing the stories of the backlash with the California $20hr min pay for fast food workers with the employee lay offs and or location closeing due to the cost because the owner/operators cannot afford the extra cost..... Even stories about McDonalds say there is a possibility of pulling out of California... And about the governor trying to repel the new wage law........Commiefornia you got what you voted for now just live with it. ............................................... drill sgt.

Smoke and mirrors. Sure the burgers may not have gone up much, but the sodas are no longer $1-$1.50, the fries are up 50%, so the meal is double what it used to be.

My problem is when I go to Taco Bell and order four chicken soft tacos and a drink, it cost more than a four chicken soft tacos and a drink at the Mexican restaurant across the street.
It also cost more than lunch Cracker Barrel. I can't think of any other reason to go back to Taco Bell other than losing a bet.
Maybe the loss of customers will cause them to shut down and leave a place for Arby's to open up?
Yeah my morning steak crunchwraps used to be $7.44 now its $11 so I don't go much anymore.

egregoreI used to get a breakfast combo at Bojangles for around $5, now it is $7. Partially mitigating it is that I got two more Bo-Tato rounds (6 instead of 4) than in the past.

PatenI think all fast food places have apps now. They usually all have deals you can only get in the app and that is the only way to get the best prices. However they are not necessarily easy to use. The Burger King app never let me actually sign in on it so I gave up on it and never go there because of it.

That's because they're making up for the deals they give you by selling your data that their app is collecting.

Rey HRHMy recent experience was two burger king sandwiches and 2 fries. No drinks. $26. We can get a sit down lunch or breakfast for that. Breakfast specials with coffee included are like $10 here.
They'll probably transition a lot more to automation and drive through kiosks to bring down the cost and be competitive.
"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

jimmy123xI walked into a Mcdonalds for a breakfast sandwich the other day in South Florida. They had a big now hiring sign, employees $14 an hour, managers $18 an hour. WHO on earth would want to manage one of those places for a measly $18 an hour. $14 isn't enough to attract anyone here to work.

lymanI've noticed some of the chains, specifically BK , has a few locations that are order at the window only, no room inside to sit,
and we have had a few Wendy's close the dining area as well, drive thru or walk in and get food and leave,
re the Chilis vs fast food, the few chilis here are not really convienent to get to, and honestly I had a few bad meals there years ago that I don't go there ever, ditto Ruby Tuesdays, ,(which I think are all gone here, )
I will get a burger from BK once in a while and Wendy's too, and usually the combo is in the $12 range, (med or large)
Sonic is similar in pricing,
however I tend to find myself at a WaWa or Jersy Mikes more often than not for a sandwich, and a drink
one place we have about given up on is Arby's, they have priced themselves a bit too upscale

SchmelbyGot fast food for the first time in about a year.
Chick-fil-A is still a model of efficiency. At least 20 cars in line, two sandwiches for ten dollars and fifty cents in about three minutes.
Outstanding!!
