King Midas Touch In Reverse Today
As in "everything I touch turns to shit".

Gonna have some family doings this afternoon for Mother's Day.

Figured I'd fire up the riding mower and touch up the high spots in the lawn. First mowing this year. Made about three passes and puked up the belt on the deck. Must not have looked at it closely enough when I serviced it last Fall before putting it away. So the mower is down until Amazon ships me a new belt.

OK then, I'll fire up the Cabota and lug off all those rocks I raked out of the garden plot. Did that, backed it back into the barn and shut it off, got out and...Sniff, sniff...Gee, that smells like antifreeze. Yup, constant drip from under the tractor. With the loader on and in that dark barn, can't really tell where it's coming from.

Took the loader off ran it up to the garage and took the side panels off to get a better look. Bottom radiator hose rubbed through on a bracket. Could have been worse (water pump fer instance...) but the tractor is out of service until I can get a new one as I really don't think I could make a generic fit. On order from Messicks.

Thinking I'll take the hint and just sit on my derriére until the crew arrives for the lobster feed.

Well...YEAH!

Actually, I intend to put a few wraps around the area that rubs on the new hose before I install it. The bracket has to stay as it tucks the hose back away from the fan blades.

Wow, I sure know how it feels. On April 26, the brakes on my Polaris Sportsman locked up so I dropped it off to be worked on. Still waiting on it. On April 25 I changed the oil and filter on my Grasshopper 720K, went to pull it out and it wouldn't start. Pulled it around to my driveway and had it picked up. It will be delivered home tomorrow. On April 29, I dropped my truck off at the dealership for an oil change and brake job. Yesterday I had to replace both belts on my rototiller. Wow! I hope I'm done for awhile.

Save some old radiator hose and use it for a wear guard on the bracket.

First mow for me, flat tires (which I expected), almost didn’t start and then got half way through and realized I still had mulch blades on with the bagger kit. Wasn’t doing a good job mowing…

Your tread title made me think of this old Hollies ‘67 song. Hope your luck changes.

All fixed with a new hose from Messicks. If you have a Kubota, you need to know about the folks at Messicks.

Reasonable prices, FAST service.

The new hose came with a new clamp/bracket. This tells me that Kubota knows about the problem and just didn't bother to notify the owners.

Posting on the Kubota owner's board indicates that the problem is present on several models. If you have a 'bota, you might want to have a look at your lower radiator hose.
