Amazon is lying to me. And it knows I know.

casAmazon is lying to me. And it knows I know.
Oh no, I’m not getting involved in that other Amazon thread.

Trying to order a tool I need ASAP. Listing show it as arriving “tomorrow” Oct.16
Put it in my cart and go to check out and suddenly it’s showing Sunday, October 18.
Wait a second….
I refresh the page. It says the same thing. I go back to the first page and refresh, it still says arriving tomorrow.
I go back to the checkout and refresh again now it says “October 16 and October 18.” Huh? How is that possible? Whatever could you mean. (Wink wink, are you trying to tell me something?)
Go back to the listing and refresh still saying tomorrow, October 16. Back to the checkout and refresh now it’s just saying “October 16”
I DON’T BELIEVE YOU!!! lmao
So I ordered it. And when it doesn’t come tomorrow, I will cancel it, and I will continue to curse Amazon‘s constant betrayal and false hopes.

V-TailSave screenshot showing October 16. If it does not arrive that day, discuss with Amazon customer service. Very high probability that they will offer some sort of compensation.

konata88I've been noticing that behavior frequently these days. Items says it would arrive w/in 2 days. Then purchase and it indicates arrival in a week (sometimes even more). Not sure what's going on with that. I think they allow you to order things that are not in inventory - backordered or delayed.
I ordered one thing recently and indicated that it would arrive in 2 weeks. But the product page continued to indicate next day arrival - I was tempted to cancel and order again to see if it would arrive sooner.
Again - not much faith in modern sw....

I have also had this happen several times in the past few months. One of the big reasons we pay extra for Prime is the promise of free Next-Day or Two-Day delivery options on eligible items at the time of the order.

AnushI also have Prime but next day is predicated on $30 or more total order. It will say next day on the item but if less than $30 when you go to pay it will revert to a later date.

M1GarandyIt has been like this for some time. I've almost been burned a couple times.

casOnce this week and once last week already "tomorrow" turned into two and five days later. It especially pisses me off with parts, when I 1.Don't buy the brand I really want so it will come sooner, then doesn't. 2. Eventually comes later than every other online or brick and mortar option.
I fully expect this order will switch to Sunday some time tomorrow evening/night. I will be shocked if it doesn't.

OKCGeneIs it “sold and shipped by Amazon” or is it shipped by someone other than Amazon?
It’s always in the listing.
I’ve learned to always check this, been there and done that.

tatortoddThe lie Amazon told me in October had to do with my subscribe and save items. Kept showing delivery attempted and new delivery date but doesn't show up. Then, they stopped updating the delivery date and refunded 2 of 12 items but the other 10 items were in limbo. There is no way that it's undeliverable because I don't live in a gated community, no dogs on my camera, no Amazon truck on my camera, and no nefarious looking people lurking around on my camera. Best guess is one of the items is liquid and it broke, but they either don't have that category or are being dishonest. [tangent alert]I'm guessing since Amazon switched to shipping nearly everything in a bag and they haphazardly throw liquids, heavy items, breakable items, etc. in one bag that they're getting more shipping damage.[/tangent alert]
I tried resolving it on their chat and got past the useless AI gatekeeper to an actual human who promised re-delivery within 3 days, but nothing arrived. I managed to get past the useless AI gatekeeper and talk with an actual human on the phone. Turns out the first guy never followed up, but this second guy reshipped everything and as we were on the phone the status on every item changed within seconds. I didn't want a refund as I needed the item and didn't want to pay $75 for an item that subscribe and save was supposed to deliver for $60.

Patrick-SP2022I had ordered some neodymium magnets. They apparently got "stuck" in transit somewhere and were lost.
To their credit, amazon re-shipped the order and the new order arrived a day or two later.

nhracecraftI especially like it when the price changes (increases!) in between the product page and the cart when you decide to purchase/check out!

They're still stuck to the side of the truck.

I imagine it's not. I grabbed it from the web earlier this morning -- seemed to apply to materials we're waiting for here, too.

We toss out broken magnets from time to time. Our quality director showed me a batch he had collected. We likely need to wrap them in a box, then a larger box, with some "stuffing" in between boxes, to keep them from sticking to the inside of the Dumpster.

UTsigWe don't get too concerned with their shipping times, a lot of times I opt for a digital credit and wait a day or so for my order. This week I ordered items on Tuesday and Wednesday, delivery scheduled for Thursday and Friday, both came Thursday.
