So, I went with the monthly payment plan, plus a discount of $10/line when signed up for auto-pay by CC. Everything is fine and dandy until this week. Just received email from them saying that, if you want to keep your $10/line discount, you need to change to a bank account instead of CC. If you want to continue using CC, the discount will drop to $5/line. Sons of bitches, I'm not giving you access to my bank account.
Fuck em. And I don’t mean that the way you think…
I got the same email and I will give them my bank account info. I mean homeowners, and all my vehicle policies, it’s the same exact shit for monthly insurance payments. They want to put in a monthly draw on my checking vs. a card. Fuck em, they can have it. I want my mother fucking discount bitches. It’s a reminder to me too. Don’t keep your $ in your checking account Pre, you big DUMMY! (Fred Sanford reference) It’s a reminder to me, to go back to what I used to do, leave minimal cash in checking to cover the bill pay bullshit. ALWAYS transfer the money in my checking to savings and add back only what I need to cover the monthly bills. That way if I get hacked, ain’t gonna be jack shit in that checking account. My savings account is not used online sans online banking transfers back and forth. No bill pay with it and no giving that account # out to anyone. Only transfers from myself to myself via other accounts. This is the way to fly IMO.

JupiterThere is an "*" beside every service AT&T provides. People better read the fine print to avoid unexpected charges. Their customer service is trained to lie. They are criminal scumbags.
At one time, I had my DirecTV, Cell service and internet with AT&T. I dropped everything except the Fiber service. Switching to T-Mobile is light years better.

1967GoatI would argue it's not the "greed" by AT&T, it's the "greed" by people who use rewards cards, like Capital One.
I used to be the Treasurer for our local community water system, ~350 homes. The credit card fees varied wildly. Capital One, AMEX and Discover were very high, like ~3% or higher. Everyone wants their "cash back" rewards, etc... But who eats the cost? The merchants do, in this case AT&T. They are simpy passing the charge back to the consumer. An ACH cost pennies to process compared to the credit card fees.

P250UA5We just switched from inconsistent Spectrum copper to ATT Fiber.
Had a nice $10 discount for auto pay. Filled it all out & it dropped to $5 for using a CC.
Then got this message last week that the remaining $5 would go away unless it was auto-draft, or on some ATT CC.
