PHPaulWell, that's a new one - Import aftermarket parts
Younger Grandson's gal pal has a Kawasaki 2005 KLX-110 that hasn't run in several years. They asked me to see if I could get it running.
Being carbureted, the first thing to do was disassemble, clean and adjust the carb.
Cheesy Rice that thing was nasty. I got a literal teaspoon full of white powdery oxidized aluminum out of the float bowl. Having very little confidence that it could be restored to function, we decided to order a cheapo Amazon/China reproduction carb. Hey, for $24, it's gotta be a quality piece, right? Seriously, I've put several on small engines with no problems so I figured we'd be okay.
Carb came in, looked great. Older Grandson took it up to install it today and brought it back saying the choke linkage was on the wrong side. "Huh???"
Still had the old carb laying around and sure enough...perfect copy, but mirror image. Choke linkage, idle screw, low speed jet screw and fuel inlet all swapped left-for-right.
So, Plan B (in which I have VERY little confidence) is to transfer the jets and gaskets off the repro carb into the original body and hope for the best.
