How being a cheapsakte almost cost me a tendon on my hand

Went to buy drinking water from the machine. One side of the road (Food Town) has .35/gal, which is where I go all the time. Found out the other side (HEB) has .30/gal. Had 22 bottles, so going to the cheaper side would save me $1.10. Of course, why not? The machine on this side is different, with a window that you have to stick the bottle in. And the window's frame had sharp metal edge on the inside, which I didn't know, of course. Midway through, as I pulled a bottle out, my right hand's 2nd knuckle ran right into the metal edge. Looking at it, damn, it cut right through, and you can clearly see the tendon, but luckily no injury to it. What a dumbass. My trigger finger, too.

Glad it wasn’t more serious. Let it heal, you’ll be heating up barrels again faster than you think.

BTW, everyone knows that HEB is king. Why mess with a proven track record (says the guy who goes to HEB every time he's in TX)?

HEB is a well-run company with visible management. I'd definitely say something to the manager next time you're there.

Q. Why don’t you get yourself an under counter reverse osmosis filter system and have unlimited pure water on tap. Costco and Sam’s club have the units at a good price and they are easy to install under your kitchen sink.
