Absolutely nothing perplexes me more than the guys online that go on and on about all the supposed upgrades they have done to their P365's and LiL' ass backup guns like that.

It normally goes like this...My P365 has a threaded barrel, holo red dot, olight on the rail, gas pedal, extended mag release & extended mag AND THEN these fools ask what holsters y'all recommend?

HILARIOUS!

Mine is in my pocket as a GOMG---Get Off Me Gun!

That's about all I can see using it for. No, I don't take it to the range and see what it will do at 30ft. No, I don't have a red dot on it and test the absolute furthest range it has or it's accuracy that far out. I don't care what it is capable of from a bench with a dot. NO NO NO!

No suggestions for you Bud, you're a weirdo that has $2k in a pink and grey camo goofy ass P365 that now weighs what a SSE P226 weighs with a 20rd mag.

Whatever floats your boat. I usually shoot a couple of boxes a month at ranges up to 10 yards. That works for me. As far as extra accessories, I have a dozen or so mags in 12 and 15 round capacity.

Well you might think of it as more than that if you did take it to the range and saw what it could do at 30ft. Despite its small size the P365 is an impressive shooter.

I'll agree that this stuff is unnecessary and unneeded. The point of a gun this small is, well, to be small.

I agree.

My first group at 25 yards from my first session with the original size pistol in its stock configuration with iron sights and no laser designators. That wouldn’t win any bull’s-eye competitions, but it’s more than satisfactory for a defensive weapon.

And rapid fire from 7 yards with about 0.5 second splits.

Yup... same here! I keep mine as small and light as possible, but do use the 12-round mag as the 10-round just doesn't give me a good enough feel in the hand to shoot well, and the 12-round doesn't add enough height to negatively affect concealment on me. The 15-round mag on the other hand is strictly for backup and resides in my offside pocket under certain conditions!

The only changes I want to make to mine include the addition of the Armory Craft extended ambi safety lever, and a different set of night sights as I do not like the stock SIG X-Ray sights.

You really should, and then you might be able to visualize using at for more than just bad breath distance. The P365 shoots just as capably as a larger pistol at normal handgun distances. This isn't something like a NAA Mini that's only good for near-contact distances...

Not knocking the P365 or Hellcat or any of the lil pocket guns. The P365 is actually an awesome gun. It just cracks me up to see what folks do to lil guns like it in the name of "upgrades"

What does a tiny holo sight do for you on a very small self-defense backup type gun? If you are aiming and firing at 25-30ft YOU are the aggressor, the threat and the perp---you could just walk away at that range--- if you are using it as your fully outfitted nightstand gun, well then good luck to you---that's just unimaginable to me.

20-30 feet isn't a long distance at all, and it's quite easy to visualize a defensive situation with a threat 20-30 feet away.

For example, 20-30 feet is less than the length of an average open concept kitchen-living room in a home. Or anywhere from half to a third of the length of the usual grocery store aisles. A two car garage is around 20x20 feet, and around 30 feet on the diagonal.

Being capable of shooting a handgun at 20-30 feet shouldn't be something that requires special tools, or extra special training and practice... Anyone who carries a handgun for defensive purposes should train to be able to get effective hits at (just) 20-30 feet/7-10 yards. (Even basic law enforcement handgun qualifications typically go out to 45-75 feet/15-25 yards, and a lot of those cops that pass that on a regular basis aren't gun enthusiasts and don't practice.)

Perhaps you're thinking 20-30 yards? If so, I'd agree that it'd be much less common for the average person to encounter a defensive shooting situation with a threat at 20-30 yards that they couldn't just get away from, but still not out of the realm of possibility.

Why is it so unimaginable? It's a fully capable 9mm handgun with 15 round magazines available. Not really any different than keeping a Glock 19 on the bedside table.

Forty yards as in the Greenwood Mall incident would be a long distance shot for a handgun. Would I rather have a rifle with optical sight in such a situation, or even a full size 357 SIG P320? Of course. But if I decided that shooting was the appropriate response rather than beating feet out a back door as fast as possible, I do believe I could get at least the two hits with four shots from a supported position as did the hero defender then—even if I only had a P365.

I have an Apex flat trigger kit and night sights on my shield... I guess just because I can?
I also have a stack of the 8 round magazines, because I found them on sale for like $10/each.
I don't even carry a gun. I just bought one to try the micro 9 form factor.

A Perpetual Disappointment...

I actually did mean yards not feet. My point is being misunderstood. I own a P365 and yes I can shoot it well at short distances and likely well at longer distances. My post was about junking them up with every single thing you can put on one and carrying it. I find it silly. I'd just take the P226 or 1911 or P220 or whatever fullsize I wanted if I were gonna do that. That's just my preference. I know the capabilities of the P365 and lil boogers like it, just prefer to use mine as a backup, pocket gun. Yes, it can sit on a nightstand but it won't be on mine for home protection. It will just be there waiting for me to wake up and put it back in my pocket. If SHTF at night the Remy 870 will be pulled out not my lil P365 with all the bells n whistles

Yikes. The nicest thing I can say about your rant is that everyone has opinions. Some are more off base and valid than others. I’m glad you like your get off me gun.

So a few weeks ago, I took a 25acp Seecamp to the range. A wimpy mouse gun chambered in a wimpy little caliber. It’s a gun that I would never carry as I have both a 32 and a 380 version of the same gun. For shits and giggle, my son and I decided to see if we could knock down plates at 10 yards. Amazingly the 25 will knock down plates and it was surprisingly easy with the little mouse gun that has no sights. We actually took video because neither my son or I thought his uncle or cousin would believe us.

As to the hanging lights and red dots off of 365s or Hellcats, I chose not to use such tools but could care less if others do it. The guns are more capable than many give them credit.

Everyone seems focused on telling me how wrong I am and that it can do this or that. that was not my point. My point was I, Me, and maybe JUST ME don't get why anyone would buy a tiny pocket gun, then overload it with range/target equipment, making is less concealable and heavy as hell. To each their own. I find it funny and weird. If I only had one gun, maybe I would do these things to it, but it would still be a full size

Some people start out with a Keltec PF-9 and then want it to grow into an "everything" gun.

The P365 is much more capable than your traditional "Saturday night special" type pocket gun in the right hands. We have guys who qualify with them better than they do their full-size duty guns, and our course of fire goes back to 25 yards. Just because it's small doesn't mean it only gets used as a pocket gun, and some folks might benefit from some of the extra gear in their application. I agree, though, that I would not hang a light and optic on a gun that I planned to carry in a pocket.

Personally, I'm not a fan of the "get off me gun" concept at all. If I'm going to the trouble of carrying a gun, even if it's just a pocket gun, I'm going to carry something that I can work with at distance if required as well as up close. I had a P32 for a little bit, but quickly got rid of it because the tiny grip, awful trigger, and worthless sights made it truly useless to me outside of 7 yards, and I wasn't willing to live with those limitations. I went back to using a J-frame as my pocket gun of choice, as I'm confident with it from in-contact distances out to 25 yards and beyond if necessary.

Most of the shooting I do with my Hellcat and XDs is at 100 yard steel. It's fun.

I feel bad for people who don't enjoy shooting their guns.
