This.
I’ll also throw out Entemmans donuts, Pizza Hut, and Dominoes.

How I long for a decent raised, glazed donut. Dunkin is crap, Timmy's is worse. Local bakeries can't even get it right.

Sad but true. Toyota, at one time, was about as bullet proof as it gets.

I think just about any new vehicle would qualify because of the electronics.

Jason’s Donuts here in Eagle River. Best damn donuts ever and apple fritters to die for. Every now and then they do specialties like cherry fritters or fireweed and honey glazed donuts. Closed Sundays and Mondays. Open at 0600 and close once they sell out which is rarely past 0800.

Agreed. Sad.

rizzle1997 was the high water mark for the Toyota Camry. A J VIN (built in Japan) was as good as it got, ever since then, all (slowly) down hill.

Why does it matter? Because I have (and use) 60-year-old hand-written recipes that call for "one tube of Ritz crackers"... now I have to use one tube, plus 2" of another tube...
Try making a cookie recipe that calls for "one bag of chocolate chips" but was written when a bag was 16 ounces and not 10 or 11 ounces like now.

tatortodd^^^ Prior to Mom passing, she hand wrote a cookbook of family recipes from my maternal grandmother, paternal grandmother, and Mom. The changing is sizes is getting to be real PITA.
For example, my paternal grandmother was famous for her baked beans and everybody asked her to bring them to holidays and family gatherings. It was my 7th time making it and taking notes before I got it right.

preten2bSchwinn bicycles. There was a time they were built for toughness but the lightweight racing crowd demanded something different. Two bankruptcies later and investment banking buyouts and they are now typical big box quality.

Johnny 3eaglesMost modern Schwinn bikes are manufactured in China and Taiwan. While historically made in Chicago for nearly a century, the brand is now owned by Pacific Cycle, a division of Dorel Industries (a Canadian conglomerate), which imports the bikes for mass-market retailers. A limited 125th-anniversary run of Collegiate bikes was produced in Detroit in 2020, but mainstream production is overseas.

Glynn863I typically buy Duluth Trading Co. stuff when it's on clearance or a good sale. I like that they offer "tall" sizes, because I have a long torso. So far the items that I have purchased are still wearable.
I used to buy jeans at Bass Pro Shops, usually on Black Friday. Their Redhead jeans were practically identical to Levi's, in fit and wear, and were made in Mexico. Probably just a re-branded Levi's. Anyway, in 2019, the 2 pairs that I bought were made in Malaysia. Within 6 months, both pairs had fabric failures / rips, not in seams, but the actual denim itself in the thigh area. Almost like the fabric was rotten. I still check their jeans, but as long as BPS sources them from Asia, no sale.
A lot of "name brand" car parts are now made in 3rd world areas, with questionable quality.

WaterburyBobRuffles potato chips.
Up to the early 80's, they were one of the best chips made.
Now, they're not even that good.
