why have children when you can't afford them?

Tired of seeing people with 5-10 kids, but can't afford to raise them...

So sad to me, those kids have no future...

What's that old chestnut? Judge not or something or other?

Frankly, I don't think your thread title is sincere.

If they're on welfare, then they know what they're doing and I don't appreciate it.

If they're working and supporting themselves, more power to them. Productive people ought to reproduce; we need more of them.

And, I agree with AJRB's comment on the clickbait title. Maybe just add "having 5-10 children" to the title.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Lol.

The request for better titled threads came from the owner. And the comment above is from one of the very few moderators.

Not exactly the folks I’d call trolls.

Wew man it was a joke, folks around here really need to lighten up a bit. Or maybe it's me and I'm too loose whitted for folks here? Idk.
The vibe here is very negative. Just saying how it feels to me not speaking for others.

I think that people are quick to pounce on this right now, because it has recently become A Big Thing. We seem to have had a run of thread titles that were ambiguous and non-informative, and the forum owner made his displeasure known, so members have recently started giving each other a heads-up re suggesting that titles be edited.

It's a bit of a touchy area right now. Nobody is picking on you, it's just what is going on right now.

Thanks for the comment. I'm not feeling picked on at all. But like you said it's been a hot topic so members feel like they have to be off duty mods. It's a negative environment with people more worried about policing with passive aggressive or sarcastic comments, than having a discussion with other members.

To the OP: I also didn't know about the thread title shenanigans. You can simply edit your title to be compliant. (Assuming you didn't know)

It only seems negative to you because you take it that way.

The reason people around here act like "off duty mods" is because it works. We moderate ourselves and so we don't have to have a forum with 50 mods and a ton of sticky threads at the top explaining all the rules.

If you get told by another member that something is frowned upon here you aren't typically going to have any issues with the owner or the mods so long as you take the advice for what it is, correct the situation and move on.

Let me know if you need help finding the door. If anyone in this thread is behaving like a troll, it's you.

You're condemning the entire forum for this or that? Uh huh. You're a troll, and I am inviting you to leave if you're so unhappy here.

And to anyone else with a handful of posts who wishes troll us by making blanket statements about this forum, I've already got your number, so tell your story walkin'.

And in case you didn't notice, arcwelder did not admonish anyone for the vague thread title, nor did he wield his authority. He merely said that he thinks the thread title is not sincere. Perhaps that's too subtle of a distinction for you. Or, perhaps you could see this, but decided that his comment was close enough for your trolling.

You wanted attention- of that I'm certain- and now you have it. In this respect, I'm an easy lay. If you want my attention here, just start with criticism of this forum and with blanket statements, such as stuff about "vibe" Roll Eyes and I'll show up PDQ.

It depends on the Family. There's lots of people with money who have kids and shouldn't.

People who have kids and complain about how much they cost, is like buying a Ferrari and complaining about gas prices.

I have a few kids, and in my opinion, regardless of what one makes the cost for kids is everything. Maybe that's the cost of a family.

Worth it.

Adding extra kids doesn't double or triple the cost. How much of my income it takes still remains everything.

Because condoms are more expensive than the government check you get from having kids you can’t afford!
