Keep in mind, the wide angle view of dash cams and their forward placement can screw up your perception of the events taking place. You generally have a faster reaction time watching the video than if you were the driver.

He is pulling out of a Publix parking lot, he could have exited on the other side, taken a right and then a left at the light, which is what I do when I go there so I'm not playing frogger

This right here is the best advice for anyone in a truck or challenged in awareness or reaction time.
Use the damn traffic light!!
Too many people just beeline to the most direct way of getting to the point they are fixated on rather than doing it the best way. It never fails that folks going to a corner gas station along my route will turn right at a green light then sit waiting to turn left through cars stopped at said light rather passing straight through the light and turning right. They see the station and head straight for it.
