Interesting, but $250 for the single cup brewer....Eek
Will keep that in mind though, if the backup Keurig starts acting up.

Spotted green algae in the water tank, cleaned it out & now it won't brew more than an ounce or two on either setting.

Glad I kept the 7-8yr old old one I had before. Still works great, just can't make a whole pot.

I like the single cup convenience, but am debating moving to something else.

Algae? Your not using the pond water from out back are you? Big Grin

Razz
Always filled from the filtered fridge tap.
Was about a quarter sized spot. Washed right off.

We dumped the Keurig brand years ago as they didn't seem to last. Went with the Cuisinart K-Cup maker and haven't had any issues with it for the last few years with daily use.

Not exactly a cheap solution and I may simply be lucky. I’ve fed ours nothing but distilled water for at least 5yrs. It’s been golden.

Cranked up the duo & topped it up with water. Just made a 12cup pit of water & a 12oz cup of coffee.

Guess it's not dead yet & the Moccamaster goes on the wishlist

My cuisanart has kept rocking for over 4 years now. The keurig brand ones never lasted me more than about 18 months before they crapped out.

If you are invested in the Keurig system, I can recommend the commercial brewers.

I've got one that you find in offices and it's been solid for over 10 years now.

It will develop air bubbles that you will have to bleed out, but thankfully it's only occured once after cleaning. I've used a mityvac vacuum bleeder to apply suction to the vampire nozzle to clear it.

Mine will probably die later today because I posted this, but I've been using a Keurig "Space Saver" for several years now, at an average 2-3 cups per day. So far I've never run any descaling solution through it, and the "descale" light has never lit up. It works perfectly just as it did from day one.

I have a big jug of white vinegar so I may run a diluted batch through it just for grins and giggles, but I also subscribe to the "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" mindset...
