ESPN- does every discussion have to include race, diversity, and politics?
I listen to ESPN radio almost daily on satellite radio. I love sports but don't have the time to watch a lot so it's my way of staying up to date. Mike & Mike is by far my favorite and I have no problems with their show.

The rest of them absolutely suck. After Mike & Mike is over or on the weekends when they aren't on I can't stand to listen to ESPN. Every single conversation lately, without fail, heads to racial and/or diversity issues. I understand that those can be the underlying themes in some stories and that's fine. What pisses me off them purposefully interjecting it in topics that have nothing to do with either thing. I had to shut it off today because they were making a big deal about Shaq and some NBA player squabbling back and forth. They started talking about the possibility of it being race related. Shaq and the other player are both the same race! How in the world could that be racial and why does ESPN try to make it that? I'm also tired of everyone trying to be funny and making stupid little comments about Trump and Republicans.

I've also noticed on two different shows that they spent 10-15 minutes talking about The freakin Bachelor. Who cares? I listen to ESPN for sports, not to hear that other crap. The NFL ratings are dropping and I think a big part of it is because people don't want to see the social crap when watching sports. Sports should be an escape from that. ESPN needs to learn a lesson from the NFL. If there is a true race/diversity/political issue then address it, but quit trying to make every story fit those agendas.

ESPN can go eat a dick.

People watch sports to get away from politics, race baiting, etc. Now they shove that shit down our throats like their opinion on anything other than sports matters.

I've stopped watching/listening to them and I'm better off for it.

It seems as if these days, that would be an invitation to ESPN and not an insult.

Today Dan LeBatard was talking about the Oscar thing last night. I don't know much about it but evidently they said the wrong name for the winning movie. He said that it's good that happened they way it did. If they had called the "black" movie (as he called it) first and taken the award from them and gave it to white people that would be bad for America. What does that mean?

I believe Mike and Mike have jumped that shark also. I used to listen as I enjoyed Herman Edwards and Louis Riddick as frequent guests on their show. But, for me, they are now not watchable.

I haven't given ESPN a moment of my time in years and it sounds like I'm glad I haven't.

Almost never listen to ESPN radio, and I have cut way back on Espn tv. I watched PBA Sunday and that was the first time for Espn for about 2 months or so.

Yeah,I used to like to listen to Mike & Mike and the Scott Van Pelt show which became the Russillo and Kanell show which was ok. Hated LeBatard when it first started and that Bomai Jones is just a racist. Then my local programming changed.to Fox Sports 1 and I can't stand that either. Colin Cowherd and an over night show that was worse than LeBatard. Ugh.

Watching Sports Center and listening to sports talk shows used to be a nice way to get away from political nonsense for while. However, it seems these days you can't tune into any sports related show for more than five minutes without having to listen to disgusting leftist tripe. It has gotten noticeably worse in the last couple of years.
Audio books are becoming my favorite form of entertainment these days. There sure isn't much on the TV or the radio worth tuning in for.

When Michael Vick was justly being raked over the coals, LeBatard was running around defending him, dog fighting is a cultural thing, if you don't know that, you're the one with problems, yatta yatta yatta. He took his song and dance to Fox News one day, Dan was sneery, dismissive and contemptuous to one and all. I've had zero use for him since.

He's not the only one. ESPN's "PTL" may be the worst with Kornheiser and Wilbon, fantastic racialists, but in the end two more useful idiots on a cable channel filled with fucking SJW's.

I only rarely switch past ESPN, just to verify that it's still business as usual over there. It always is. Of course ESPN isn't alone in ruining sports with their cartoon agenda.

How much does ESPN cost?
If you have it on Cable, Direct, etc., you pay over $7 for it whether you watch it or not.

In my mind, the ONLY thing ESPN is any good for is the countdown of 'The Plays of the Week'!

Agree. ESPN seems to have gone to an entirely social and political agenda.

I'm noticing the time I previously spent on ESPN is being much better utilized.

I stopped watching ESPN when they felt like the also needed to be part of the 24 hour news cycle complete with BS filler.

It means they've run out of sports to talk about, and we clearly do not need a station devoted entirely to it. Perhaps they could have just the sound of hippos farting, or people with debilitating stutters read nutritional labels from their pantry. And when someone carries their inflatable turd across some arbitrary line in a spectacular way, they can cut away from Corky, and talk about that again for a while.

I watch their college football, and enjoy most of the college talk. I don't care much for the rest. I remember when they first came about and had ping pong games to fill air time. Maybe they should go back to ping pong.

They could air table tennis, rugby, Australian rules football, shooting sports, waterskiing, or even Japanese game shows and I would probably watch.

Athletes, former athletes, and "journalists" talking politics and social issues? No thanks. I don't care to hear athletes pontificate. "Sports Journalists" are not interesting to me either.

I am pretty sure the topic of ESPN being "Left Leaning" is coming up more and more lately.
