Ugh I’m over hearing AI this, AI that. E I E I O come on enough already.
That is all.

It's the latest and greatest technology concept/buzzword. Expect to hear it attached to everything, and referenced constantly. "AI-compatible cars", "AI-managed banking", "AI-driven breakfast cereal", etc.
Kinda like "Blockchain" was ~5 years ago. Or "The Cloud" or "Smart" was ~10 years ago. Or "The Web" was ~30 years ago. Or "Digital" was ~40 years ago.
They'll beat it to death, and find a way to incorporate it into everything (no matter how loosely), until the next big things drops. Then they'll move on to fixating on "Quantum" this or "Dilithium" that.

Yeah I’m sure it’s here to stay for awhile at least until the next big term comes along. Just over used and over it already.

I hate it too. Long story short, AI is banned at work but people try to use it anyway and it makes extra paperwork for me (the guy who gets those reports).

The buzzword addiction is not new. My little red wagon of 50+ years ago had no electronics on board, and wasn't very fast, but it was a Radio Flyer.
Wifi-enabled garden rakes, AI-enabled staplers... all you can do is ride it out until the next buzzword displaces them.

Better get used to it. The nattering nabobs of negativity (the left, the "news" media, etc.) have found a new gold mine with which to frighten and titillate the masses, and they ain't lettin' it go.

Yeah, it isn't going away but there is some reason for caution, IMO. Not that there is anything we can do about it but jut as everything that technology does that is actually good there is plenty of it that is used for not-so-good reasons. Currently the media cartel is the best example of high jacking that for the leftist's causes coupled with the censorship of opposing ideas. AI will just take that to another level - and that is just in politics. It will be used for criminal purposes as well count on it.

The term AI is thrown around so much these days that I don't really know how to define it correctly .

AI should be treated with care, does have real use and applications, and will have an impact on a lot of jobs.
Nobody blinks an eye to all kinds of production automation today. People sitting in front of a computer are next, and that "learn to code" quote will be repeated ironically a lot..

Uhm I know inserting politics where it doesn't belong is frowned upon however, since AI has been around since the first computer was programed and really began hitting its stride when the personal computer surge happened, I am beginning to believe this will be Joe's talking point for "his" campaign.
Just like when Russia was brought up against Obama's lack of knowledge concerning real world events and was laughed at, then miraculously, Russia became so strong as to be the reason Trump won three years later, I think we are going to see AI as the democrat talking point of the destruction of mankind and needs to be quelled.
This will be especially true when someone "asks" a computer for the definitions of "delusional" and "enabler" with regards to the LGBTQXYZ movement and the computer responds with they (the "no, today I am a woman" movement) meet the definition of delusional and need to be isolated until psychological treatments prove effective and the enablers (government, etc.) need to get likewise treatment.
At that point, the dems will likely claim only the government can own computers with processing power higher than a 486 chip.
