This new trend of speaking fast
Is it just me? My God, it seems that either networks are turning up their speed to 1.5 or 2.0, or most younger people (95% of them are women, and most of them have those screeching voices or practicing vocal fry) are speaking so fast nowadays that I just hit "mute". (Newsmax? I'm looking at you!)

I don't see it in the people that I interact with daily, just on the boob tube.

Maybe I need to have my melon examined. Confused

Sheesh. Take a breath. Slow down. Enunciate clearly. Please.

I have noticed this years ago with the reruns I watch on various channels- they do speed up the playback to squeeze in more commercial time.

This was from the early 80s.
Coincidently, I was a gas station mechanic at the time in Uniondale NY and John Moschitta's father was one of our customers at the shop.

A good reminder of what a entertaining and effective commercial was like.
Most of the resent commercials make me turn away from the TV in disgust.
