Dealing with the FCC on line is a royal pain in the ass. All I wanted to do is change my address. I had to open a new account, submit a username, enter a password as to their wording, security check, phone number their way, click onto a picture display, and verify my email address. All this, and so far, no way to change my address. I guess my FRN number and my license numbers are not secure enough. Two days wasted. ********* "Some people are alive today because it's against the law to kill them".

Last time I had to deal with the FCC was July 2016 when renewing my ham ticket so hopefully things will get better (but i doubt it) in the next 3 years..... Several close contacts (local ham radio operators) have had problems when trying to make personal changes to their data in the last 6 months,, And finally after making contact with a live employee who was actually very helpful in processing their request. ....................... drill sgt..

We didn't have fun getting Debbie's vanity. Ended up paying twice they are supposed to refund one. We'll wait and see. It is no fun dealing with CORES now _______________________________________________________ And no, junior not being able to hold still for 5 seconds is not a disability.

I think your problem is that you had to open a new account. I just changed my address for my ham radio license today and all i did was log on, then go to an application link as if I was applying for something and i submitted my change of address. Here are the steps I followed: Taken from Common Amateur Filing Task: Changing Address To change an address associated with a license, go to the Universal Licensing System , select Online Filing, and do the following: 1. Login with your FRN and Password. 2. Choose Update from the Work on This License menu on the right hand side of your License At A Glance screen. Note: For additional help with this process, click on the Common Questions that appear on most pages of ULS License Manager, or click the Help link at the top right of each page. 3. Answer the questions on the Applicant Questions page. Then click Continue. 4. On the licensee page, update your licensee address and any other relevant information by typing your information into the text boxes provided. When ready, click Continue. 5. On the Summary page review the information you have entered. If you wish to make additional changes, click the Edit button next to the section of your application you wish to Edit. You will be able to return to that page of the application. Make the desired change and select the Return to Summary button. 6. When ready to submit your update to the Commission, choose the Continue to Certify button. 7. After reading the certification, enter your first and last names and title if appropriate in the boxes at the bottom of the page. You MUST sign the application. When finished choose the Submit Application button. 8. From the ULS Confirmation screen, we recommend you print a copy of your application and/or the Confirmation screen itself from your web browser. Note: The address and contact information you have entered in CORES registration will not be automatically associated with your licenses. To change the address or other contact information on your license, you must update your information in ULS. Another day wasted. Who is the hell ever decided to implement CORES program as a security page to enter the FCC? I believe, ham radio operators will dump CORES when they attempt to renew their license and legal Ham radio will then become another 11 meter band free for all. We all know how that worked out. ********* "Some people are alive today because it's against the law to kill them".

CORES seriously sucks. It's terrible. The whole FCC system is terrible, but CORES is the terrible cherry on top of the whole terrible sundae. "The people hate the lizards and the lizards rule the people." "Odd," said Arthur, "I thought you said it was a democracy." "I did," said Ford, "it is." "So," said Arthur, hoping he wasn't sounding ridiculously obtuse, "why don't the people get rid of the lizards?" "It honestly doesn't occur to them. They've all got the vote, so they all pretty much assume that the government they've voted in more or less approximates the government they want." "You mean they actually vote for the lizards." "Oh yes," said Ford with a shrug, "of course." "But," said Arthur, going for the big one again, "why?" "Because if they didn't vote for a lizard, then the wrong lizard might get in."

Staring back from the abyss |
My last renewal (January) was pretty seamless. Took a grand total of about 15 minutes. The only issue I had/have is that the website is quite slow to load. Other than that, no issues. ________________________________________________________ "Great danger lies in the notion that we can reason with evil." Doug Patton.

Well, here we go again. I phoned the FCC and got a download info with the shortcut to change of address. FCC phone person told me the CORES program is the directors idea. Anyway, I logged on and surprise, my FRN and password are not accepted. The phone person said they were. <sigh> I'm told the change of address MUST be entered on the CORES site. Grrrrrr. ********* "Some people are alive today because it's against the law to kill them".
