Toilet paper hoarding
No shortages here. There has been TP on the shelf every time I've been to Wal-mart. Living out in the middle of nowhere has its advantages.

By the way, wife found tp in stock and went ahead and bought 3 packages even though we have 6 months supply in the basement.
Yay free market!

Oh. So you're that fucking moron. Good to know.

Other members beat me to it, but Amazon and other industrial suppliers have it in stock. Sometimes you'll have to the the yuge rolls they use in bathroom stalls, but you can still unwind it off the roll.

The comfortable Charmin stuff is hard to find online. I have a monthly subscription for it from Amazon which looks like it'll be unfilled this month, same with paper towels.

Our Wal Mart is rationing it.

We got one 24 roll pack and that will last us a while.

They are keeping the shelves stocked with the smaller packs now as the trailer people can't afford the mega packs. However you are still only allowed a single package.

Yeah, the Costco, the Publix, and the Walmart near me are all rationing it, one serving to a customer.

They still run out in less than an hour after the store opens, if they even have it.

We have always bought the 36 roll pack at Costco. We have a linen closet with enough space to store it. It's just my wife and I. My Personal Observation Of Paper metric indicates we hang about a roll per week. With the rolls that remain in the linen closet we are good for 5 months.

I am 65 and take advantage of geezer hours at the local market. This mornings trip yielded TP and paper towels, already destined for friends in need.

Let me help you out. Which way did you come in?

I don't understand the hoarding, like at all. If you take a big nasty shit that smears all over your ass cheeks, go into the fucking shower. Further smearing it with paper isn't the best option.

I believe there is a direct correlation between the amount of toilet paper one feels the need to aquire and the size of the asshole.

I'm in the reverse situation...having too much TP on hand. I recently made a trip out of state, decided to combine purposes, and brought back TP with the intention of selling it locally (to both offset costs and help care for an elderly family member)...but by the time I got back into the state the AG had received so many price gouging complaints he decided to crack down...so I now have a surplus of TP, paper towels, and bleach.

Previously posted in the profiteering thread:

I just returned from a trip out of state. An elderly family member who had been buying/ hoarding all manner of things for years had been previously moved in with a different family member and the costs associated with their care were creeping up.

I brought back several items that were either to be for use by the family member, or other family members...however, given the current panic buying I grabbed several cases of toilet paper, paper towels, and tissues, and a few gallons of cleaning supplies. My plan was to "kill two birds with one stone", start the clean up phase, sell some of the supplies to offset my costs/ their care costs, and hopefully provide an opportunity for those who needed such items to buy them. Win-Win right?

I hadn't come up with a hard price but had planned on researching what comparable items were selling for in the area and adding maybe %20-%40 to cover some of my costs in retrieving them.

However, by the time I made it back into the state, apparently over 300 consumer complaints had been filed with the Democrat AG and he was going to become the 'caped crusader' for the common man and crack down on us despicable "gougers"...so, the TP, paper towels, and cleaning supplies spent years sitting in a corner, they will resume doing so in a new corner...and all those looking for toilet paper on our empty store shelves...well, they and their kids can deal with unsavory methods to wipe themselves and itchy backsides until the panic subsides and the supply chain catches up.

Count me firmly in the camp that believes there is no such thing as gouging...only a free market in which prices rise and fall depending on Supply and Demand.

^^^^^^^
List them for a REASONABLE price and they will sell. The amount of markup should be under whatever figure the AG noted. You can also share it with friends. JMHO

Tell you what V-Tail, karma goes both ways, and I just won one, so I'm going to make this an instant karma, and you just won. As mentioned previously, I had planned on selling locally and I really don't have a good means of shipping a case, but I've got a 6 pack of Great Values Triple Rolls quilted finest that should fit in a box.

Shoot me an email with your name and shipping address. It's been snowing since last night, forecasted to snow through tomorrow, so it might take me a couple days before I can get to the post office and ship it.

Thank you for the suggestion. I'll check to see if the AG published any guidance...but in the current "price gouging bad" environment I'm not sanguine about being treated fairly if accusations were levelled...and it really chaps my hyde that I would even have to adjust my prices based on some arbitrarily set number, rather than based on my costs, risks, and current market supply.

After getting back in state I checked with family and friends locally and they appear to be set... I suppose I should check again though.

Wait, no, thank you, thank you, but I was joking about the karma.

Take care of your family first.

Thank you for the offer, but while our supply is getting low, we are not at the danger point yet. I'll keep checking locally.

Checked my hoard at the office this morning. 314 rolls. Do I have enough to buy my post apocalyptic army yet or should I do another supply run? Cool
And before the two virtue signalers start their crying I'm buying whatever I can find because I'm supplying ten of my employees households since they were all caught unprepared and had hardly any.

Not even sure what to say about this, so I'll just leave the video sans comment.

Fair enough. I got the impression you had been on the hunt for a while and were getting near the "danger zone" mark.

If we have a member reading this thread who is approaching the "TP situation critical" point post here and I'll do what I can to help.

Yes, been on the hunt for a while and getting low, but not critical yet.

I keep thinking that now that the local stores are limiting to one package per purchase, trying to control hoarders, supply should catch up before too long.

If I do get critical, I'll yell for help. As of now, I'm a little concerned, but not panicked (yet).
