A "service" from Amazon Prime -- when looking at an item for sale on another website, Amazon frequently presents a small pop-up window showing the same item available at Amazon.

Example: I just opened an email from Costco and scrolled through the items that are going on sale today. Eddie Bauer lounging shorts, two pair for $18.99. The Amazon pop-up shows these at $22.53 to $30.12 for one pair.

Sure, Amazon, I'll pay three times as much for your offer. No problem, I'll get right on it.

You allow Amazon to track your activity on other sites?

I've had Amazon Prime for years and mine doesn't do this.

OTOH, Capital One does do it on the Amazon site.

It's almost impossible these days to keep these F#$%s from tracking the average user. If you give one site permission, you've given all their partners permission. With the ISP getting in on the action, it's a slam dunk.

I have found Amazons prices rising quite a bit...

They used to be the price to beat...not so much now. I thinks its the cost of launching their own delivery service...that all factors into shipping costs.

I still use them for the little stuff and "need quick"...but if its a larger item, Im going to shop around...and often find lower prices with competitive shipping.

Someday, Amazon will fall...they will be the Sears and Roebuck someday getting knocked off by some other company.
