Nuculer has ALWAYS rubbed my fur the wrong way. How is it that otherwise reasonably intelligent people can see the word nuclear and pronounce it nuculer? I seriously just want to Gibbs smack anyone who does it. It pisses me off to no end.

The latest one that is really beginning to piss me off is TOOmeric. TOOmeric? Really? The word is TURMERIC. TerMERic, NOT TOOmeric.

Did these people ever go to school? Mad

Wait, are we including using the plain WRONG word, or just mispronunciations?

I guess it would be a mute point.

I was at the deli counter when one of the patrons remarked about the "artesian" cheese. Not artisanal, artesian. Sorry, lady, this cheese has nothing to do with a well.

I have a similar pet peeve. How anybody can see how February is spelled and not pronounce the first R is beyond me. Same for the L in salmon.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.
