Here is a modest budget proposal Congressional wages a) STOP when budget not passed by 9/30 b) ALL congressional staff included c) Pay NOT recovered when budget finally passed. d) all funding stops for capitol. water, air conditioning, lights e) they can fund their own porta-potties for the capitol | ||

Well you could just make it that they only get paid if there's no deficit. Reality is others than brand new congress critters, it wouldn't effect their wealth much at all. Most of them would pay (and do) to keep the job. When $$ gets tight, gov’t agencies cut things people like. That could be National Parks, public pools in the summer, beaches, whatever. Schools do the same, while leaving the most annoying expenditures intact. They taint gonna use a porta potty. | |||

Good thought, but I doubt most folks in their positions depend upon their official salary to live.
