Wife's Expedition picked up 2 nails & a slow leak. 1 located in a spot that Discount won't repair.

I figure she was about 4-6 months from needing a set, went ahead & replaced all 4, kept the 1 Michelin that had good tread as a backup spare, but also got road hazard this time.

Wasn't a big fan of the Toyos that were on it anyway, but definitely not an expected expense.

70k warranty on the new ones, should be good for a few years.

Most I've ever spent on a set of tires by a fair bit.

Like you I spent a fair amount on E-rated Michelin for the big white truck. I purchased the road hazard also, thinking that the worst case damage would be when I was renting a RV trailer. I like Discount Tire a lot. My bill was thankfully equal to the company bonus check.

Michelin+Discount had a rebate that almost covered the road hazard, luckily.

I had expected around 1k when it was time, ended up a bit north of there for a set of LTX M/S2.

My daughter just put tires on her VW Golf at Costco. Last time was in 2019 at $500. This time it was $700 Mad . Exact same tire both times. 40% increase over 4.5 years is crazy.

Last set of Michelins I bought were Pilot Sport AS3+ for our Ford Flex (on LBJ's review) and I think they were just over a grand installed, without road hazard. So, I guess a bit more for what I got today, for a [P-Metric] truck tire, isn't bad.
Doesn't make the sticker shock hurt less, though.

Discount Tire can have some good sales, though that won’t help in a time crunch situation.

I got four Cooper Discoverer STMAXX for my Tacoma for $900 from their eBay store. BFG’s are overrated. Wink

I will add my endorsement for Discount Tire. Great service and they really stand behind the products they sell.

Couple years ago my truck was getting close so I mentioned it to one of the guys at Discount Tire. He called me a few weeks later, Michelin had a promotion running with $70 off per tire. The P275-70R-18" truck tires are not cheap! Ordered the tires, made an appointment a few days later, 4 new Michelin Defender LTX mounted, balanced, road hazard warranty, and sales tax $931 (after the usual Discount Tire 10% discount for veterans!).

I've been back a few times for rotations. Always in and out in under 30 minutes. Every rotation includes tire wear analysis (optical scanning of each tire) and spin balancing.

About 5 blocks from my house. I have no reason to shop anywhere else.

I'll agree with that, never had an issue with DT.

I've been driving my dad's Suburban while my truck is in the shop. Took it to DT to have the wheels rotated & one of the centercaps/hubcaps got lost, either in the DT or on the drive home. They replaced it without hesitation/cost.

275/55-20 LTX M/S2 in my case. Definitely not cheap. Heavy too, as I kept 1 that was still in good shape, tossed it in the shed, just in case.

The wife's 2015 Acadia had Michelin Defenders. Lasted about 40,000 miles before they started making alot of road noise. Thought it was a wheel bearing but turned out to be the tires. Had Generals put on it. Much cheaper than the Michelin's and a bit more suitable for our NE Ohio winters. Skipped the road hazard warranty. Not worth it. Most substantial damages are to the sidewalls anyway, which can't be repaired.

My dad has run LTX Defenders on his last 3-4 trucks & regularly got either 50-69k out of them, or they aged out & needed replacement.
Hoping for the same, here, with the M/S2.

Discount Tire has become my go-to for tire stuff. Michelin LTX M/S are the best tires I've ever run on a truck. Smooth quiet riding, long lasting.

I bought some tires recently. I often mix & match some, works for me. I bought 2 Michelin ice & snow tires for the front of a Ford Focus. I ended up with that car on a barter type deal.

Then I bought 2 Michelin Defender tires for my truck. I have two Blizzacks that will be on for the Winter soon.

Yes a little Winter here in S WI, but nothing like the Northern edge of the MI U.P..

I'm opposite. I got 50k on the Toyo's and still could've gone another 5k to the wear bars if the front end alignment didn't take out the right front inside tread unbeknownst to me. I didn't get 1 single nail in any of them in 50k miles which is unheard of in South Florida. Have them rotated every oil change. I really liked the toyo's, truck rode a little stiffer, but handled better IMO. I put LTX on it about 7k miles and they're great tires, but seems like the truck leans a little more in turns with them......etc.....

Adding to it, now I get to buy a windshield.
I'm 7 hours from home & my wife called to tell me she took a big rock to the glass. Haven't seen it, but from her description it sounds too big to have repaired.

I just had 4 Michelin Defender 2 put on my wife's 2020 Forester. $865 from Costco. She had 50,000 on the OEM tires, tread was getting to low to keep them on for the winter.
