KrazeehorseThere was a period when I would open all that and if there was a postage paid envelope I would tear everything in half (including the envelope it came in) and send it back to them.

V-TailI have received mail that actually was important, so I do look at the stuff before it goes into the recycle bin or the shredder.
Especially when it's postmarked from Bolingbrook IL; I used to live in an adjacent city (Woodridge, IL).

joel9507Maybe 80% of our incoming mail fits the '...with prejudice' selection.
Would be great if the USPS decided to stop offering discounted postage rates for 'bulk' mail.

PHPaulTear it in half to render it unidentifiable, then throw it in the recycling bin at the post office. Let THEM pay to dispose of it.
Unless it's AARP or Capital One, in which case it gets run through my cross-cut shredder to make DAMN sure it's unidentifiable.
