"This Page Has Become Unresponsive"

Anybody know why I'm constantly getting this message on my tablet, when I go to a different site ? It says I can wait or cancel. Very annoying !

Ads are a real killer, especially if Ad Block is used. I have had the CPU fan spin up, memory usage spike and the CPU utilization peg at 100% for minutes.

So, I found if I opened the Ad Block extension properties and toggled it off, the CPU and memory drop to normal in a few seconds, then I turn the block back on and all is good, until the next time. But it seems to be specific to certain sites and the ad APIs that trigger the spikes.

I'm right now configuring a Raspberry Pi Zero to run Pi-Hole on my network. It will intercept DNS requests for ads, acting as an ad blocker for everything on my net. And for under thirty bucks.
